In Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition on Mega Drive, the final level sees you perilously driving a raft down a mountainside of waterfalls. Of course, the TAS approach is to simply jettison yourself off the mountain at the first opportunity

(TAS here: https://youtu.be/LMtXY0lKHJw?si=A8RKlITx0oOcjLne)

Gameplay gif from "Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition". The player (Dr Grant) is navigating a raft down a mountainside of waterfalls. Suddenly, the raft jettisons off a waterfall and shoots to the bottom of the mountain, where it resumes moving offscreen.

In RoboCop (NES), you have a limited ability to block enemy attacks. TASes use this mechanic with frame-perfect accuracy, allowing RoboCop to literally walk past 95% of the in-game enemies. My man just going for a stroll while everything in a 5 mi radius is trying to attack him lmao

(TAS here: https://youtu.be/WsBOTzr0jmw?si=wD4ZnjQ4MDtdefHR)

Gameplay gif from "RoboCop" on NES. RoboCop inexplicably walks by swarms of enemies, seemingly unharmed by their attacks (due to frame-perfect use of a block ability).

In Streets of Rage, there's a entire level where you fight bad guys on an elevator. In TASes of the game, the fastest way to beat this level is to simply toss everyone off the side of the elevator, which leads to some unintentional comedy

(TAS here: https://youtu.be/gCUi6Bv0gtk?si=fuiwCbcbRdtkTaF5)

A gameplay gif from "Streets of Rage", which takes place from a side-scrolling perspective. A man fights a group of enemies on an industrial elevator on the side of the building, and methodically tosses each enemy off the side of the elevator, defeating each in turn.

Fun story. was made during a ; the show runner being a longtime writer herself knew the Union rules backwards and forwards. She knew any Union writer could write one episode of an animated series under the strike rules. So she went to every great writer she knew who needed work during the strike and offered them one episode. (wha)

Was able to pickup Star Trek Log Books by Alan Dean Foster from a local auction, funny how I found Log 1 at Half Price Books not too long before I saw these at an auction. Still missing Log 2 and Log 9.

Here's the latest variant picture for Tasmania.

XBB.1.9.* "Hyperion" (38%) and XBB.1.16.* "Arcturus" (23%) have mostly displaced XBB.1.5.* "Kraken" (23%).

The vigorous mix of very different variants poses a raised immediate re-infection risk for anyone relying on natural immunity from a recent infection.

There's still a bit of XBF.* "Bythos" and CH.1.1.* "Orthrus" around, which have mostly disappeared from the rest of the world.

The sample volumes seem representative up to May 5. This is a very welcome update, after a long pause of around 6 weeks.

I'm on a motivation streak for editor 2, so let's start a thread, why not?

For context, this is an in-game interactive editor for crafting tool-assisted s, implemented in an LD_PRELOAD / DLL-injected mod.

TAS editor 2 is me redoing it completely from scratch in with all lessons learned and very ambitious architectural ideas. It's been going very slowly, but I got the initial groundwork done, hopefully it'll be better.

Yesterday I got started on path drawing.
