Something that I really makes me feel good is listening to

And in the spirit of sharing things that I enjoy, here’s a thread 🧵 with my current favourites, complete with notes on topics covered and why I like them.

The list is presented in no particular order (as I personally dislike rankings), but I must admit that my absolute favourite is journalist, debunker and “Methodology Queen” Michael Hobbes, who appears to be on Mastodon as @rottenindenmark - anything he (co)hosts is a must listen for me!

Ready for some ? Then the Upstream Podcast is what you need. Hosts Della Duncan and Robert Ramin Raymond lead conversations / interviews with brilliant hosts. They also release quarterly in podcast form. The core idea is that we need to go to discover and address root causes rather than treating symptoms of our broken economy. Apart from the contents, I appreciate the care with which sound effects and songs are woven into each episode.

I had missed this line from RedHat's post about limiting access to the sources:

> Simply rebuilding code, without adding value or changing it in any way, represents a real threat to open source companies everywhere

Yeah, that's exactly what corporations have been doing with hundreds of projects for decades. Extracting money from code they contributed nothing to. But I guess when they do it against independent developers that doesn't count, does it?

@pemensik@fosstodon.org avatar

@gabrielesvelto Red Hat is paying software engineers to fix and contribute code to . "Upstream first" is our internal motto. I don't think this is fair comparison.

I'm finding the "outrage" about change of subscription terms very weird. Open source development happens in the repos and the only people that really care about the source for downstream binaries are those with the binaries. 's limiting of RHEL clones does make it slightly harder for projects to ensure loops run on those distros. However Red Hat are big enough to take on those responsibilities in house and report back when regressions happen.

Our next meetup will be on 7th, from 5:30pm in the office. We will sit down and learn how to build itself. Hoping to get more people excited about contributing to the language itself.

Had a lot of fun recording this episode of the podcast with Monica Granados of @creativecommons and @HeatherLeson.

TLDR: open is not just a software thing; it’s a collaboration technique that gets used in the real world—including in moments of crisis, and in preparation for crisis.

kkarhan,
@kkarhan@mstdn.social avatar

@spucky @forthy nicht nur das...

Das Problem bei der ist nicht allein der am Endkundenanschluss, sondern dass auch deren komplett und ist.

Soweit dass und bereits mal die verklagt haben weil diese nicht als missbraucht werden wollen da die zu faul ist am neutrales zu machen.

Weil hasst !
