WipeOut for the PC was among the first computer games I ever played. My family’s first computer was a Sony, and WipeOut was bundled in the software package.
Bizarrely, Sony has abandoned that original title, so a very clever gamer has made it available through a web browser by reverse engineering the code. Now the question is, will Sony take it down?
For Wipeout fans out there who may not have heard about this already, there's a webgl port of the original Wipeout game using the leaked source code that came out last year. The author of this webgl version is purposely attempting to get Sony to see there are people who want the original to be playable on newer consoles again and wants to help work on a rerelease/remake.
@winden I did something like that before, running 8 instances of an emulator to play the 8 player linked up version of Daytona USA. Some interesting stuff that Sega did with the linked attract mode that you can see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joUOIMl_MFQ

Beloved #PS1 launch game #WipeOut is now playable for free in your web browser
WipeOut was Sony's initial first-party exclusive for the original PlayStation when it launched back in 1995. The anti-gravity racing game was phenomenal. Now it's abandoned.
