Is there a way to report a Lemmy community using a Calckey (or other non-Lemmy/Kbin) account? I can pretty easily report a post just by loading it, but I think I should report an entire community since the community rules on its side-bar are obviously bigoted.

I really hate the "girls are becoming trans men/transmascs to escape misogyny" narrative because genuinely believing it would require that you dismantle misogyny to address the problem - but no one who spouts that narrative seems to much care about dismantling misogyny.

On Calckey, if you report a post from another instance, is the report automatically sent both to your admins and the admins of the post you're reporting?

On Mastodon there's a toggle switch that let's you pick whether to forward your report to their server or just send it to your admins, but unless my vision is failing me I don't see any option like that on Calckey.

I think the best thing I did for my mental health today was block a "well actually..." reply on one of my toots.

I could have left it, but that asinine comment would have prompted someone to try and explain it was asinine. Which would have triggered a double down on said asininity. And someone else will have to jump in to also try and explain how not being an asshole works.

And I didn't have to have that whole reply tag argument in my mentions all day. It was lovely. Thx Past Valerie!

Since Meta is trying to federate us, I'll be locking down my account to private until the Meta instance is up an running and until I can block it entirely. The reason I do that, because this way, no one can follow me from that instance, so my account data would not get pulled out to Meta's instance. :)

As of today, twitter became inaccessible to users without an account. In the process, they broke #nitter , the third-party site for viewing twitter without trackers. Nitter was the only method I was willing to use to view tweets. They also made it impossible to make archives of tweets in the future using sites like archive.org or archive.today.

What does this mean for #PandorasTaleWiki? Probably nothing. Prior to last fall, Xan revealed some information about her comics on Twitter that I thought was worth including on #PTW . All references to her tweets link to nitter, along with an archive of the nitter page on archive.org or archive.today. While nitter is broken, all existing archive links still work.

Since last fall, Xan has generally posted the same information on her #Mastodon account as on Twitter. Since she joined the fediverse, #PTW has preferred to cited Xan's Mastodon posts over her tweets.

Going forward, if Xan ever posts information on Twitter and doesn't post the same corresponding information on Mastodon, then I won't see that information and it will not be referenced in PTW. #PandorasTale #PandorasTaleComic #ComicsByXan #Webcomics #FandomWiki

@e_urq When pundits try to make the argument that trans women post-HRT should be assumed to be biologically indistinguishable from cis men as a justification for banning them from sports/bathrooms, I think there are really only two possibilities:
1)They believe HRT has no effect on the human body.
2)They are lying and their entire argument is in bad faith.

Some of the less polite transphobes will actually claim to believe (1). They will say things like "you can't change your biology!" The trouble is that if they really truly believed that HRT did nothing, they would not support any restrictions of any kind on accessing HRT. Why bother requiring a prescription for a medicine which does nothing? Why fearmonger about children having HRT forced on them if it does nothing? After all, there's no minimum age or "safeguarding" required to buy homeopathy since it doesn't actually do anything (though there should definitely be some more anti-fraud laws restricting homeopathy sellers from advertising it as a substitute for actual medicine).

So I think the simplest way to detect whether people like David French are making the sports argument in good faith is to ask if they believe estradiol and testosterone-suppressants should be over-the-counter with no age or usage restrictions. If not, then they really do understand that HRT changes our bodies, and their refusal to acknowledge this change when talking about sports is a lie.

@TerryHancock @evan I hope we get federated wiki-hosting because right now, either you need a different account for every wiki, or we rely on centralized wiki-farms like . Ideally, either itself would gain federation support or new wiki software would allow importing a MW database.

However, I am now going to move the goalposts and say that there is another reason I want federated wikis: cross-wiki transclusion. Currently you can "transclude" an article or section into another article on the same wiki, but AFAIK there is no way to transclude an article from one wiki onto another wiki.

Times this would be appropriate would be if two or more wikis had distinct but overlapping subject matters, such as the wikis that make up #NIWA. For example, it might be appropriate for the Super Mario Wiki article on Kirby:

To transclude some parts of an article from Wikirby or SmashWiki, in a way so that edits to the original page or section on Wikirby automatically carry over to the page on Super Mario Wiki.

Obviously care would need to be taken to avoid mixing incompatible licenses.

The following two situations are mutually exclusive:

Situation 1: The law requires people with suicidal ideation to be punished by incarceration in shadow jails and told it is for their own good. Moreover, mental health doctors who know you have suicidal thoughts are required by law to arrest you.

Situation 2: People struggling with mental health are unafraid to ask mental health professionals for help, or to talk publicly about their struggles.

Note that Situation 1 is the status quo in the U.S. Any "mental health awareness" campaign which fails to address this issue is doomed to failure.
