Why should you learn about other games even if you are only going to play #DnD
Because listing to @MasteringDnD review of Daggerheart helped me break my thoughts on how to break Alignment and TIBF in a way that amplifies roleplay and character personality.
@bedirthan I really don’t know. They really should have an actual call for writers with clear guidance. Provide examples that show your wheelhouse but also that you understand theirs. The recent Maps articles do a nice job of showing off platform benefits and DM tips.
It would be a great story if the data showed D&D the along a financial hit from the OGL. I’m a big fan of the community rising up.
But, the data does not show that. If anyone has an actual source beyond an ICv2 throwaway quote, I would love to hear it. Every chart and figure suggests no impact and D&D doing stronger than other industry segments in the post-pandemic period. The OGL debacle has had many impacts, but I don’t see a financial one.
@dnddeutsch I did all my analysis yesterday, and I always look for an OGL angle, so I was surprised to see this claim by EN World. Looks like it comes from an ICv2 quote with no basis for it.
Ugh, since I started watching more #TTRPG YouTubers last week, my recommendations are now filled with video after video with clickbaity titles and thumbnails talking about the Cynthia Williams resignation. One is over 2 hours long! There's no way anyone has more information than what Rascal News reported in like three tweets, and they certainly have no insight into the Hasbro C-Suite. I almost regret subscribing to more TTRPG YouTubers. The discourse sucks y'all.
