Two fixes that are coming soon:

  • The notifications tab badge will correctly clear when swapping accounts while on the notifications tab.
  • Clearing the notifications badge in Ice Cubes will also clear the badge on the web client.

@IceCubesApp As you seem to work on notifications: is it possible, that this one is caused by instances, which answer too slowly and an timeout occurs? I’m asking, because enabling notifications manually failed in one case the first time. The switch was then set to disabled.

@PhilipKing @IceCubesApp Yes, the GitHub issue is about this problem. It happens to me from time to time.

Do you close the app from time to time? That’s what I’m doing. It’s possible, that it’s more likely, the problem occurs more often then.

Why isn’t the page preview generated automatically on the server side like for the most other external websites?

@dimillian I don’t want to block threads.net, but I also don’t want that icecubes accesses external websites with my IP.

Really, I think that’s a pretty bad idea. Icecubes users assume, that all displayed data comes from their instance and not from external websites. I assume, I’m not the only icecubes user to whom privacy is very important 😀.

The version 1.9.16, which is coming soon, is beefy!

  • You can now compose up to 5 posts at once to post a thread.
  • New settings to customize replies indentation and to disable indentation altogether.
  • You can now tap the "reply to" header to go or scroll to the parent post.
  • There is a new option in the posts context menu to enable text selection.

@IceCubesApp Yesterday I finally installed iOS 17 and updated . For me, these are the three improvements I like the most:

  • The new media viewer, which loads the media MUCH faster. And also the new image carousel is great.

  • The AI generated ALT

  • The hashtags at the top of the postings, so I know why a posting is in my timeline

After 2 weeks of using ( ):

  • Currently it is providing around 5% to my daily consumption, which is not much. It's December and the heatpump is running hard.
  • The biggest challenge is to prevent export to the grid. The sun is shining when the consumption of the house is the lowest. Currently I am preventing it with some automations, which turn on dehumidifier (which I use for drying clothes) in a laundry room or a boiler.

How do you prevent el. export?

@po3mah I’m not an expert, but I assume you can’t prevent it. When you don’t consume electricity it will be exported. You could use a battery to minimize exports.
