Also don’t video unless you are in a position to get away from law enforcement as in able to run and dodge. Don’t assume a crowd standing together to video is safe. Know your exit points , have a plan. Wear a hoodie , cap, and sunglasses you can throw away after you attain a relatively safe spot. Treat it like a bank robbery and have detailed contingency plans.
@evn@msquebanh sadly I’m past it. The way LEOs behave now is even more violent and I’m at an age where a hard fall would have serious consequences. I’ve got an older spouse to care for. Had to pass the torch.
Hive mind, looking for opinions. I have a shepherd/ heeler mix that’s 7 months old.
She is a chewer. Loves her monster Kong , sticks , and these weird not rawhide pig sticks.
Question - boiled beef knuckles, yeah or nay? Boiling makes them softer and they were given to me by a neighbor who raises cows with organic feed.
I hear yes give her a bone and no don’t, for various reasons. Reading the same online.
Opinions?
@CatDragon Knuckle bones, yes, boiled, no. This according to my local butcher. Boiling them makes them softer and they can break apart more easily making them dangerous to dogs.
Get some non-boiled ones from a pet store. Peanut Butter (a Pit Bull, Catahoula, Bull Mastiff mix who can CHEW!) loves them!
Old friend and his spouse are visiting tomorrow. Very surreal to be a stop on his farewell tour knowing his remission will be short lived. #cancersucks
So Nellie had her first vet appointment and apparently she’s going to weigh 55-65 when she’s grown. She’s at that gloriously awkward stage, and big puppy plus small house is taking some getting used to by all parties involved.
Regardless of what the rescue organization said Nellie appears to be a lot of red heel with a dash of shepherd. She’s extremely bright and I think there might need to be agility training in her future so she doesn’t get bored.
#Today I realized that I may have done less paperwork for our first mortgage than I have for some dog rescue groups these last few days.
I do appreciate that there’s a need for screening but some of them are a tad over the top. House pictures? Seriously?
#Today after a great deal of consideration we have decided to get another dog. While no one can ever replace Lucy in our hearts life without a dog to share it with seems emptier.
We will have to take our time looking because we don’t want a puppy, prefer a smaller dog and they’ll have to be toddler, cat, and other dog friendly.
And so the search begins.
#today went to UPS to send in my cologuard test. 20ish person behind counter, “box contents”. Me, specimen. Them, what kind? Me, specimen to check for cancer.
Them, you can’t ship tissue. Me, they sent the box I return it here. Them, what is the specimen? Me, it’s poop, you shit in a jar and send it in to get checked for colon cancer.
Them, yelling to manager, can we ship feces? Me, kid can we not? Manager, sorry they’re new. Everyone else in line, stifling embarrassed laughter. Oy.
