Maybe it might need to be explained; very few people who support liberation for Palestine support Hamas. We understand that groups like Hamas are a logical outcome of oppression, and actually addressing that sort of violence requires addressing the systems of oppression.

You cannot focus on a single event, you need to understand the wider history of oppression and violence. That includes the Nabka in the 40s, European history of antisemitism and colonialism, and Zionism.
You also need to look at the current power imbalance, between a besieged population and a modern military. Those with more power in the situation bear the greater responsibility to actually fix the situation.

This violence isn't going to stop when Hamas is dismantled, it stops when all the people in the region are free
That might be an unrealistic goal, but that's the only solution

Finally got a chance to check out the composite I made. I think it needed a little more resin in it, but it looks pretty good. This chunk is too thin for what I want, so I'll have to make some more. Seems to be quite tough, I had to resort to hammers to break it

I just saw a HUGE shower of green and yellow sparks shoot up over the houses across the road from behind them, and then all the lights went out everywhere.

The lights have come back on my side of the street, but not the other side. The street light is on steady the other side of the street but is flashing on and off on my side.

The lights in my house keep dimming in and out.

Outside smells like a metallic burning smell.

I don't know what's happening.. I'd say maybe a dry lightning strike, but there was no sound, and I've heard a close up lightning strike before.. you definitely don't miss that sound.

So other than the slightly weird look, this peppermill is really good: grinds fast and consistently, holds a lot of pepper, it's comfortable to use
I should put some blanks aside for when i inevitably get harassed into making some more :P

    Ok, this is still annoying me

    "Pandemic is over" is covid denialism. This is a disease that is actively killing and causing long term disability in people. Maybe we'll reach a point where it's over, maybe it'll just become like polio was, but were not there yet.

    You can disagree about the appropriate measures to handle this, but to pretend it's not really happening is bullshit.

    Covid is an active disease, and the current unmitigated spread is going to result in more deaths and new variants arising

    (Oh, and if you're going to say something about it now being endemic, that's just moving goal posts and not actually dealing with the reality of the situation)
