Day 1 of Meta's Threads federating with the fediverse, and so far, it's business as usual here.

But maybe that's because we blocked them 6 months ago, when it became clear they were welcoming hate groups with open arms?

I am genuinely confused why people who would block any other instance with bigots and nazis decide to make an exception for a fucking mega corp?

@babadookspinoza intersex people are common enough that you don't get bio undergraduates to do karyotypes on themselves because you will have to provide counselling when some discover they aren't as simple as they thought. So if it's affecting bio lab design it must be reasonably important

Watching the @TechConnectify video about heating sizing. The thing I find hardest to understand tho is the idea of measuring heat pumps in tons.

    I post cats on facebook and get a bunch of responses
    I post stuff about Palestine on facebook, and there's nothing

    Now, I know it's not because my friends don't care. I've seen occasional post by them about it, and I know one of the people NSW cops arrested over the weekend. Seems like the conclusion is discussion of genocide is being suppressed
    (given what happened in Myanmar...)

    Here's something interesting for all of those trans fems out there that are worried about testosterone levels or that have been invalidated by family members and friends telling them that they only think they're trans because they "have low testosterone"

    The red cross on that graph is my pre transition testosterone level vs the average values in cis men, by age.

    As you can see, my T levels were HIGH! And yet here I am :)

    There is also that patriarchy explicitly tries to control reproduction. "Females" are property that bear children, so obviously they have to define "male" and "female" in ways that reflect that power structure.

    Hence why they are worried about trans masc people becoming sterile, but worried about trans fems having access to women
