Could I get an autopsy done on myself while I'm alive?

Completely random stoned hypothetical. Lets day im old as fuck and I decide I’m ready and done. Could I have the same postmortem autopsy done on me while I’m still alive? Like give me a ton of drugs and let me watch myself get dissected as my final moments. I understand there is a legal and possibly moral concern, but is it...

I believe the technical term you are looking for is a “vivisection”.

And if you ask a surgeon to do it… “just to see” expect there to be some amount of shock. And maybe some very unfun drugs. Maybe a straight jacket…

His shock. Doc’s shock. Either way. Shock.

That… that can’t be legal… can it?

US House votes to force weapons shipments to Israel, rebuking Biden (www.reuters.com)

The Republican-led U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill on Thursday that would force President Joe Biden to send weapons to Israel, seeking to rebuke the Democrat for delaying bomb shipments as he urges Israel to do more to protect civilians during its war with Hamas....

Was that ever a serious debate?

Yes. Republicans are worse.

Doesn’t make Biden “good”. This isn’t a hallmark whodunnit.

they want the car companies to tell them when you go someplace naughty. like a gay bar or maybe an abortion clinic

That too.

Glitter lipstick. Preferably something hard to remove.

It was a significant problem in early machines. Most now have thermal runaway protection. As long as your wires don’t short out, it shouldn’t be a problem.

And the only wires that have enough energy to be a problem are the heaters- hot ends, heated beds/enclosures.

The firmware keeps track of how much energy is going to them and will shut the printer down if the energy is inconsistent with the reported temperatures. (Aka thermal runaway protection.)

You can also usually add secondary thermistors and if they deviate too much, triggers the same result. (And the machine will usually start trilling to get attention, etc,)

Eh. when was the last time a mosfet melted on anyone? not saying it can’t happen, but mosfets are at fairly reliable. as long as you’re not trying to push wayyy too much power through them; and also proper surge protection to avoid things like bad power in your house frying them.

(Gonna get downvoted here, but hear me out here,)

Capsaicin isn’t a spice*. It’s not even a flavonoid. That is to say, it doesn’t trigger or act against the taste receptors in your tongue.

What the stuff does is trigger the heat receptors in your mouth (and skin and everywhere else you have heat receptors.) causing your body to feel like it’s burning.

“Spiciness” is what happens when your flavor receptors get overloaded. If you want to experience it, go get fresh garlic and chew a raw whole clove. (Do NOT swallow. And be prepared for massive indigestion. Raw garlic is not to be trifled with.) or maybe take the cinnamon challenge (spoonful, hold it in your mouth. Do not swallow,)

In any case capsaicin itself causes happy-hormones to be released, as a result of the sensation of being burned through. (The sensation also causes increased heart rate and that can get excessive, too.)(the people that like super-hot peppers are masochists.)

(*Spices are technically parts of plants used for flavor that generally aren’t the leaves. So the pepper itself can be a spice, don’t get me wrong. Most are quite fruity. The vast majority of people are not using hot peppers for that fruitiness, though.)

To add what prune said, it can be some what inconsistent. Women aren’t robots.

My ex had periods that were frequently +- a week or so, and my current GF is regular enough to freak out over a couple days.

There’s also things that can cause skipped periods that have nothing to do with pregnancy- intensive physical training or stress.

Because it’s the only way ‘Murica can be exceptional.

(Exceptionally awful, if it wasn’t clear.)

I rather assumed that mom was the one who told her to keep her mouth shut,

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

yup.

I can only imagine what someone like my ex would have to worry about in those places. The idea that something- for her- is totally normal would see her facing charges for things that never happened anyhow. It’s patent stupidity.

This kid is smart, and whoever coached her… good job.

Whelp that’s illegal.

Glad to know they won’t see any consequences for it, though,

Perish the thought!

I mean, they’d perish just with the realization…

Are pay day loan sharks really fiduciaries though?

FuglyDuck,
@FuglyDuck@lemmy.world avatar

Well, sorta. They’ll just raise rates, get too big to fail…. Get bailed out and use it for stock buy-backs and bonuses.

Still profit,

Where does their state congress meet? Inside their desks sounds reasonable to me.

FuglyDuck,

So. Maybe they forgot to admit the old missiles couldn’t….anymore.

That’s why this is a thing?

To answer the question, the first 10 amendments.

Did you think that was a gotcha?

No my point is 11-27 are also part of the … you know… constitution.

Some of them are obviously quite important, too.
