No alcohol - I wouldn't wish to be in a bus with a driver who'd had a few at lunchtime. Why should the reverse be true for those supposedly "steering" the country?

This aligns with a thought I had to make part of an Upper House like "jury service" - ie, draft people in as a "Civic Duty". Perhaps not for two years - I was thinking a few months at most so that (1) there is a good turnover so current opinions are represented (2) such members don't "go native" as it were and (3) any "nutjobs" who make it past any (essential) vetting can't do too much damage.

Has anyone had experience of a cat with hay fever?
For a week now, Copper has been intermittently sneezing, with red eyes, runny but dry nose, wheezing and lethargic. He's still eating heartily, doesn't have a temperature, and everything else is normal.
He improves overnight when I keep him in, which makes me think it's an external stimulus.
He loves being outdoors so I don't want to deprive him.

To be fair here, we need to put this in a UK and European context.
1, Cats are native to European countries (many examples of, sadly rare species eg Scottish Wild Cats)
2, The stress of forcing cats used to free roaming to stay indoors is huge.
3, In the UK context, my experience is that bird "kills" are relatively rare compared to mice etc (see 1). But then, my cats are quite lazy...

Couldn't agree less.
As a learner (very slowly - sorry), I find bilingual road signs very useful. Indeed, I'm now reading the Welsh first in many instances, in the sense of seeing the words and understanding the meaning (the way language works anyway - you don't spell out C-A-T cat - you just see "๐Ÿˆ")

@fkamiah17 That's right - I was hunting round for some similar ideas. The closest I found was some around break ups of and betrayals in relationships (I suppose this has some relevance here if we consider the relationship between citizen and government).

@juergen_hubert I'm posting pictures from my Icelandic Christmas Calendar of the "Yule Lads" - beings who come down from the mountains in Iceland around Christmas and cause trouble and mayhem (and latterly, bring gifts to good children - children who've been bad end up in Mother Gryla's pot or are eaten by The Yule Cat).
