What are these "bass" and "treble" that I see in an equalizer ?

I am not an audio person, so do not have much idea about technical terms - but I hear the words “bass” and “treble” almost everywhere now, especially in the equalizer app that came with a new bluetooth earbuds that I bought (yes, I am still very much a wired-earbud guy, just dipping my toes in the wireless earbud ocean)....

Iapar,

Are you serious?

You can’t see how lesser bullets per second is helpful when you goal is to lessen the amount of people dying in a timespan?

Iapar,

That is not how it works. You have to proof your claim. If you want to be taken serious at least.

Iapar,

So is anybody talking about the people with a standard edition? Seems we are getting fucked and forgotten.

Iapar,

Seems like the real escape was the games we left along the way.

Iapar,

Was the same for me at first but in the setting is button which pings the instances. I just checked everything with a green number and unchecked everything with a red number. After that it worked.

Iapar,

Is this an article about idiots or a jacket-add?

Widdowson believes the bear was motivated to pounce after hearing the two women discussing their upcoming lunch. Gallacher said, “Let’s get something to eat,” to which Widdowson replied, “No, you are not allowed to give food [to a bear]. Absolutely nothing, nothing, nothing."

“And I think he heard it and decided he had to eat my friend instead,” Widdowson quipped.

Both women credit an article of Gallacher’s clothing with saving her from a worse fate. "She was wearing a thick Marks & Spencer jacket and the poor bear got more jacket than arm,” Widdowson recalled.

“I was wearing a padded jacket and a top and another top—that’s what saved my arm,” Gallacher marveled. “I’ve been very, very lucky.”

Iapar,

Even dumber because that happened before.

“What happened was the bear came up to the window at my friend’s side, and no problem. It let us take a picture and went away,” Gallacher told STV. “But I didn’t get a proper picture, so we went back and it was at my side.”

They already had the goddamn picture!

Ambulance should be retroactively allowed to unhelp people. Just ripping out the stitches while shouting “there are people who actually deserve this”

I think that is one of those situations where it is fitting to say “they deserve to day”. Like they actually worked towards it.

Like that woman who took a selfie at the edge of a cliff with warning signs all over. It’s unreal how many people are dying because they want to take a selfie. It’s a fucking health hazard.

And embarrassing too. There must be so many ghosts because of that.

The fediverse is amazing!

I can’t get over how cool it is to view my posts from any server. I’m definitely going to use activitypub for my social media I’m planning on making. I was going to use @Discourse , but considering it’s like where you are only able to self host and each instance of discourse can’t interconnect makes me kinda sad. But activitypub seems like the only way I feel happy in both ways.

@lemmy

Iapar,

This is adorable.

Iapar,

❤️

Iapar,

It is a point of discussion in a extraction game in which it is all or nothing, to have storage which guarantees you to extract with items in the first place.

But I can understand the decision from a “it is still a game and that could be just too frustrating” point of view. But to sell extra spaces for rl-money is just ridiculous.

It may not be “pay to win” as you can still lose in a gunfight etc. But it is sure as hell “pay to have unfair advantage”.

And I think the rhetoric should shift to criticizing that in games. Because publishers can “win” an argument on that technicality.

Every time I play with a friend who has the EOD edition and she gets to take more back to base then me after dying, I get a little frustrated.

Iapar,

Pfff, that just the script to the last of us part 3.

Iapar,

He offered 2/3 of a mustache to someone who took it.

Iapar,

I had the same problem when I started to look into Linux distros. Nevermind, I have the same problem in generell. With bandnames, songnames, appnames, packagenames, you name it.

I run with Debian at first because it sounded better than Ubuntu and the logo reminded me of the zerg from StarCraft.

Then I tried a bunch of others, you know how it is, and landet on fedora. Hated the name, still do, but it was the first distro where everything worked. So I’ve been sticking to it since.

Iapar,

“You see Timmy? Everything is possible if you just believe put in the fucking work!”

Can I learn android development in a non-javscript IDE? DAE find electron/javascript IDEs confusing?

Does anyone else find javascript/electron-based code editors confusing? I can never understand the organization/hierarchies of menus, buttons, windows, tabs. All my time is spent hunting through the interface. My kingdom for a normal dialogue box!...

Iapar,

I don’t know what JavaScript has to do with the ui. You can design a bad ui in any language, a good one too.

So no I don’t understand it. Maybe you need a different type of approach like a modal editor?

Look into helix, (neo)vim or (Spac)emacs. They could be a better fit from a visual point of view. But they have a steep learning curve.

Iapar, (edited )

“Damn the satanic temple must be filled with maniacs if someone thinks a pipe bomb is necessary.”

Or

“We should ban the satanic temple then nobody would run around with pipe bombs.”

EDIT: inserted quotes to clarify intention.

Iapar,

Those are not my opinions I was trying to guess how people are going to spin it. Not really sarcastic but more cynical?

Don’t know the fitting word to describe my motivation but it came from a place of anger. Not against the satanic temple but the people who talk like that.

Guess I should have put everything but “or” in quotes.
