Been reading up on zone 2. Started with a long walk and surprised myself with a 6k, which almost immediately became 10k. Sounds like a lot, but zone 2 is easy to maintain - that’s the idea. Start easy, then work on improving pace and purpose. Continued it to the 90 day ‘habit forming’ range, then found I could now run the 2.4k from school non-stop now (never did this before), then a 6k run after about 3 months of fast, normal (not Olympic style) walking. Holy shit, was I inspired! Now working on a 10km/ hour running target. I encourage anyone trying to improve themselves - hope your journey works out!

They built an entire industry dedicated to gaming the search results, so I feel your frustration. Nowadays, if it’s not some influencer telling you to try something, it usually a bunch of topic snobs who need the latest and best (read: most expensive) version of anything - completely unusable for a casual query. If you have friends or local communities with the same hobbies, I’d start there. Or start in the shops - you find out real fast of they’re trying to push product on you, versus genuinely trying to help you find what you need.

Measure the politicians to the impossible standard, i.e. the unattainable ideal, not the values they tell you to believe in. The higher up in office you go, the higher the standard of conduct and judgement they should be held to.
