I know, I know l, I said I was going to skip a yarn advent this year… but then The Blue Brick came out with a mood board I love. AND instead of 24 days of fingering plus a full skein, it’s 12 days of DK “minis” and a full skein. 12 days of DK seems so much more manageable even if it is something like 2000 yds total. Thinking about a new project.

I have these three hand dyed tops. I'm not sure what fiber, but I think it's a merino silk blend. The one on the right and bottom are rather similar, the left one isn't quite the same but has a lot in common with the other two.

All are about 100g each. And from experience they will default to a very, very fine single.

I think I'll spin each top into a single and then make a 3-ply combining those the singles.

@KarenStrickholm @knitting your Rav queue is beautifully restrained! I've got Husbeast's cardigan to finish (I'm just about to put the sleeves in but I need to do paperwork 1st). Then I have my Triple Advent Blanket to finish and a brioche shawl to work on. Oh and a sock for Husbeast.

@KarenStrickholm @knitting it’s actually a really lovely technique although you knit every row twice so it takes bloody ages! I deliberately designed my Triple Advent blanket to use brioche so I could make mistakes and learn how to fix them in a low stakes way. Go on. Give it a go! 😉

@knitting Then we were driving along and saw a sign for a “handspun yarn and knitted items”. So we went in. I drive, I decide where we stop. We stopped in an amazing crofter’s studio and I ended up as a demonstrator showing how drop spindling worked. I’m feeling incredibly inspired.

@consumableJoy @knitting I a, really looking forward to this! I've got a few that I'm hoping to work on including frogging a cardigan and reknitting all of it except the sleeves. (Which is why it's a WIP). And there is the epic Triple Advent blanket.

@Kayray @thearchers I'm worried what Helen's reaction will be. Henry's curiosity is natural - especially when everyone around him is shielding him. The sooner Rob dies, the better.

@BashStKid @Kayray @thearchers If he doesn't have long, he may well become incapacitated before he can do anything too dramatic. And please don't think I'm being blasé about this storyline or being cold. I'm the child of a Rob. Fortunately, he left & eventually dropped out of our lives but for a while when we were small he would be in touch from time to time and it was very unsettling.
