Another one: What do people use for reading out loud articles? At best on ? I find that has really robotic voice, has terrible and I just miss the way this works in .

When new services join the , it works best if there's an associated default app. Everything shares the protocol but an app can be designed to best deal with a certain type of content. I use by @mozilla right now for articles, but it's not federated. I wonder if @omnivore can't be the default app for our AP enabled and future.

Crap, missed out on the Analogue Pocket adapter sets, are they planning to make more? I was waiting to get the Game Gear one and test it out, I just finally got my game gear games.

The adapter does block the L/R buttons, but not a huge deal since GG games (and I think the others with adapters) don't use L/R anyway

@SirTapTap Looks like the set/bundle is sold out but the Game Gear one standalone is still on the shop, if I'm reading it right https://store.analogue.co/#pocket

Looks like the latest #analogue pocket (or maybe the core updates? I did it all at once) finally lets you use the different filters on pretty much any core.

I haven’t used Pocket in ages. Thought I’d launch it to see if I have stuff I forgot about. Ugh it’s all spam feeds and recommendations now. Glad I’m off it.

News from the land of hobbies:
I have learned to hand-sew a neat 90° corner, and pretty nifty semi-decorational pocket. I attatched it to my old slacks and it is actually functional. (:

Next trial - hidden pocket.
These pants will be covered in different kinds of pockets as my skills progress. :P

@pocket_recommends Terrible, terrible experience with [forced] account upgrade of - after logging to Mozilla account, I landed on Pocket with no saves at all!!!

Only after logging out and logging in, and then trying to export my saves I have somehow finally landed on the correct account, with my saves present.

Oh. On 24 December released firmware 2.0 for . Original Display Modes for openFPGA. I you own a Pocket you will understand. That's the best Christmas present I didn't even know I have gotten. https://www.analogue.co/support/pocket/firmware/2.0

If you have an , Pocket Updater is a lifesaver. Automatically upadtes all your FGPA cores.

It can't install firmware 2.0 for you yet but run it, copy over the firmware and install that manually and you should be fine

Anyone knows any alternatives with good code block rendering?
I use it a lot to read articles offline on my phone while travelling, but code blocks most of the time are either missing or merged into a single line.

would be ideal but I can settle for proprietary options if they do a better job.

Extra points if they have native desktop app.

Thx!

Trying out cause I thought it might be a better version of and @mike is very supportive of the . But it's very different. I'm used to having an extension to save stuff there, getting a clean version of the article and having it read to me. I thought there might be lots of apps that did all this. Maybe not. @omnivore fails these tests so far too. Eventual integration with the fedi is my dream.

Any Omnivore read-it-later app users out there?
Seems Mozilla has de-listed the Firefox extension and is dragging their heels to get it reinstated.

Yes, the same that owns , the read-it-later app.

I smell a rat. Mozilla needs to come clean on this. They are pro right?

I HATE this business model, but I do like the analogue pocket. Went and got a backup plus it's a nice color.

Would have preferred the see through but whatever

The dock is nice BTW but either put it in ONCE insanely carefully or put a little clear sticker at the bottom. It WILL scratch your device if docked wrong, and it's very hard to get in right. Extremely disappointed considering the prices involved.
