Hey, quick question: what's the normal amount of laserdiscs to own in 2023?
Because I'm pretty sure this isn't it.

Kilte,

@foone you know...if there's any you don't want i got accounts on all the major payment services

Cosplay help! I'm gonna try to do a full cosplay of Lago from Wolf of Withervale. Do you know where I could find items that look as close as possible to the ones from this image?

Kilte,

@joabaldwin Moresca makes some quality capes and cloaks (I have one, absolutely recommend), but no embroidery on em. Could probably ask em if they'd do it or take it somewhere to have it done?

2 hours until my flight takes off? Perfect for knocking out a chapter or twenty @joabaldwin

Kilte,

@joabaldwin That sounds like a challenge as this flight is 11 hours long! Already a fifth of the way through and just devouring each page.

Now that Microsoft owns Activision, what's your shitpost choice for a game from their library that you'd like to see them open source?
My first guess is H.E.R.O. but I'm sure there's something else in that huge library

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Activision_video_games

Kilte,

@foone I have a feeling Wizards and Warriors would be a real trip but idk

Kilte, to Furry

Maybe it's natural, maybe it's Scotch Blue. In-progress masking of the head in order to start patterning it! There's gonna be at least two layers of stuff on top of the head, neither being fur, so this is just to get full coverage rather than any specific fur pattern

Kilte,

Success! The cuts of rubber sheet fit really well when smooshed down some. Will get some proper adhesive and begin the gluing in a couple weeks. The additions I am going to make like ears and whatnot will just require more holes cut into the rubber, which is totally fine as must of that will be covered up anyway. Same with some vent holes, I got plans for those as well

I am staying up super late and watching bee and puppycat because it feels good to do the wrong thing. Thank you monday holidays. RIP sensible sleep

Kilte,

@janusfox what an exceptionally comfy show that is

Man I wish more public arduino libraries worked with the sparkfun artemis chip. I keep having to shelve my Artemis Redboard and go back to an ESP32 because that's got more support. The ESP is great and all, but the Artemis has been a great chip could really use the help DX

Kilte, to Furry

Gonna make a cyberfox! Head base is from Fuzzbutt Fursuits and I'm really looking forward to working on this.

The same 3D printed head base with the jaw closed

Kilte,

I think this example code spirograph is a pretty good starting point for eyes. I'll give it tweaks and maybe try to make it continuous, but I like the overall feel. Sucks that I couldn't get it to work with my other board, but if the ESP is the path of least resistance I'll take it.

Today’s Law Dork on the ADA “tester” case. https://www.lawdork.com/p/supreme-court-ada-testers-standing-mootness

Kilte,

@chrisgeidner Arguing about an ADA tester having standing when a website designer approached by nobody (and faked an inquiry) gets standing and a positive ruling. Fucking insane

As a Midwesterner, it is absolutely bonkers to me how common it appears to be for HVAC systems to get installed in attics.

Don't do that. Stop doing that! WTF?

That's bad enough, but then you go and run the ducts up there, too?

Y'all.

If you keep the system and the ducts within the space you're trying to heat and cool, you don't have to account for any losses, now, do ya?

Put the air handler in a utility closet. Run ducts /below/ the ceiling. Enclose with soffiting if you must.

The end.

Kilte,

@TechConnectify The house I lived at in VA had insulated ducts in the ceiling. No room anywhere for the air handler to be elsewhere. My house where I'm currently at in CA has the garage as the first floor, so all the ducting is run in that ceiling. After doing a little HVAC design as a job it honestly doesn't bother me too much either way. After being cooled, the air has to be heated back above the dewpoint anyway.

Kilte, to random

In progress impromptu project for some friends! Most cooling vests are not generous with room for the chest and some women in motorsport wanted a solution. Trying to do this as budget-conscious as possible I settled on just having a chilled/partially frozen reservoir and a recirculation pump. Battery pack and pump play nicely!

HP-UX won't reach EOL until 2025!?

Jesus, HP.

Kilte,

@foone Ahhh, the real formative years of portable computing/offices. The 110 and Portable Plus from that time are fun little machines. Shame that my disc drive is totally dead and the printer is acting funky

Kilte, to Engineering

Woo! I can finally get back to the new product testing and development this week! No more screwing around with BOMs that are decades out of date! Got pulled out of my actual tasks for like 2 months to clean up the messes of engineers past to support our database migration. #engineering #prototyping #FurriesInSTEM

Strongly considering an permeable paver driveway instead of asphalt. Not sure if this is better for the environment or worse even though they're called eco pavers. Less solar absorption than black driveway but more water use for the grass. Hmm.

Kilte,

@janusfox As long as it's permeable, doesn't have to be grass though! Stones and gravel as well as tighter permeable pavers won't add any water usage
