A photographer's dream. I've been photographing at Mono Lake for many years, and never did I expect to get photos like these, I didn't think it was possible. The aurora came and went for only about 15 minutes with that intensity, shifting colors before vanishing. #Aurora #NorthernLights #MonoLake

🪶 One of the pics I really wanted to get during the recent eclipse was of these scissor-tailed flycatchers with the crescent sun behind them. Alas, they posed only when the sun was full, and after that they perched only on conspicuously inconvenient branches.

Eclipse video! Experimental-ish. Used bracketed exposures as a timelapse, so that the sun seems to pulse. It wasn't planned, I just liked how it looked while flipping quickly through the images in the camera, and thought I should make something with it. Plus bonus footage.

OH! OH! I just found this gem among my bracketed exposures of the eclipse! Got a super nice rainbowy halo during the diamond ring. And gorgeous wispy clouds all around! Single exposure, no blending.

I didn't get the sharpest of eclipse pics since there was a light haze from high elevation clouds, but I got some nice corona details and a ton of prominences showing. I'll work on a little video next, something I wanna try with the bracketed exposures I got.

Spotted five California condors at Navajo Bridge in Arizona. This was #54, who was the most aggressive and kept bugging all the others. He likes walking the tightrope with his wings outstretched, parading all over to flash his GPS tracker and tags. 🪶
