I might have posted about this already, but it looks like a cat must have landed on my laptop pretty hard when it was closed one day, because now some parts of the screen are brighter than others.
It's an old lappie, but I've come to love it (it was also a gift) so I am going to try to replace the screen. The videos make it look easy.
Okay, I need a 32" TV for my bedroom. #HDR is a MUST! anyone have any NON-#SAMSUNG suggestions? NO NEED for #DolbyVision. Prefer #LG, but just need #LCD/#OLED that can hang on wall. TV is ~10 ft from head of bed - if that makes a diff. Only using w/AppleTV 4k Gen2. No TV tuner requirement.
«umweltfreundliche, papierlose LCD-Schreibtafel, als praktische Notiztafel für zu Hause und unterwegs verwendbar, mit Malstift zum Schreiben und Zeichnen, 11” Display mit 3 Farben, einfaches Löschen der gezeichneten Inhalte mittels Löschtaste, inkl. Batterie, für Kinder ab 2 Jahren geeignet»
If I bought a little colour #LCD screen from AliExpress, how would I drive it? Like, can I just hook the pins up to an #Arduino or #RaspberryPi (#BananaPi in my case), write a bit of software and see an image? Can they usually run at 60 Hz?
Wie ist eigentlich der aktuelle Stand des Burn-in-Problems bei OLED-TVs? Speziell die statischen und in der Regel hellen Senderlogos machen mir Sorgen.
These Lumex 1602 character LCDs (LCM-S01602DSR/C) I found in #ewaste have the polarity of pins 1 and 2 swapped when compared to the more typical Hitachi HD44780U 1602 displays commonly used in #Arduino projects
I think this example code spirograph is a pretty good starting point for #CyberFox eyes. I'll give it tweaks and maybe try to make it continuous, but I like the overall feel. Sucks that I couldn't get it to work with my other board, but if the ESP is the path of least resistance I'll take it. #arduino#cosplay#electronics#LCD
I usually prefer to do my builds with off the shelf parts, like this prop! But sometimes, you gotta get creative to make the whole thing come together!
Any #electronics people know what a safe refresh rate on an early 2000's monochrome #LCD would be? I'm working on some PDA related code and I remember reading in the Casio documentation that refreshing the LCD too quickly can decrease its lifespan, but I don't think there was a concrete number given for what "too quickly" meant.
I don't really care for 60 FPS, but it would be nice if 24 FPS animations could be safely displayed. #theFoundry
