A coop PvE game for two dads and three sons?
A shooter, preferably. Any recommendations, #mastodon guys? The youngest lad is 10, so as little violence as possible. Thanks š
My current favorite āmemorizableā method (obviously a random hash from a PW manager is still better) is to take a sentence of moderate complexity that includes the name of the service youāre signing up for in it, and use the first letter of each word as your password.
For example, āWhen I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is go to pawb.social.ā
Password would be āWIwuitm,tftIdigtps.ā
Easy to remember, immune to dictionary attacks, and you get a (mostly) unique password for each service, so stolen passwords can only access that one thing.
Edit: To be clear, the value is that you can use the same sentence everywhere, switching out the name of the service to generate semi-unique passwords for each service. Obviously someone analyzing your passwords would be able to figure out the pattern, but thatās basically never what actually happens; itās more likely someone gets 1 password and tries your email address + that PW in a variety of services, which this is strong against.
Itās surprisingly easy to memorize. The sentence basically acts as a mnemonic device to remember the password, and itās a lot easier to memorize a sentence that makes sense to you than to memorize something like āTr0ub4d0r&8ā.
Never have I ever... Furry +18 edition! (art by shinigamigirl)
The rules are simple:
Everyone who's a furry and reads this thread needs to add a comment. Write about something that you haven't done yourself, even though it might be common, you're interested in it, or curious about it. For example:
"Never have I ever had sex in a fursuit"
Anyone who has done it, will leave a reply to that comment with the text "*drinks*" or similar. Make sure to check back in later to see new messages and reply to them.
You can also reply to each other to ask questions if there's something you're curious about.
Feel free to bring up both SFW or NSFW topics. Please be respectful and don't bring up NHIE statements that are malicious, political or divisive.
((By the way, thank you for your suggestions on the ideas thread for conversations topic the other day!))
Drinks I met my wife online; we never went on something Iād describe as a RL ādateā until after we were already marriedā¦ I donāt think thereās anything wrong with never having been on one. You arenāt missing a lot, to be honest!
You're referring to c/196. There's one rule in the community: if you visit, you must post something before you leave, so all of the posts are announcing that they're posting in accordance with the rule.
Stumbled upon someone who seemed completely opposed to the idea of federation and the fediverse. Like, if you are opposed to federation then why are you on here? They seemed to be pretty confused about what the fediverse is all about and likely joined due to misleading advertisements.

I think you just answered your own question. Those are probably folks who saw people talking about it on Reddit, and came to check it out without knowing how it worked. They're also probably part of the subset who will not be here for long.
Meta (owner of Facebook, Instagram & WhatsApp) is joining the fediverse very soon and we have to seriously prepare. This isn't a theoretical scenario anymore.
Well, I hate this. The whole reason for coming over here in the first place (for me) was to get away from as much corporate influence as possible. This is the last thing I want to see.
