So, it's officially been (a bit over) a year since I came to the fedi. I don't miss Twitter at all. I miss some people there, of course. But I don't miss the "gotcha" culture, the near-constant mansplaining, all the tiny bits of nastiness that just wear on you, day by day. And of course, that was before it became all of what it is today. Thank you, friends for a great year. Looking forward to many more.

    None of the Republicans mentioned the reason health care costs have spiraled : private equity. Private equity investors are extracting wealth from the hospitals, dr's offices, ER, hospice, and providing worse care, fewer staff --all to maximize profits.

    @jackhutton It is becoming accepted that all private equity is bad. That is not the case but one has to look carefully to discern the good from the bad.

    So I have and suspect I am too. I am feeling particularly overwhelmed at the moment and although exercise helps, I am struggling to manage it. Running is a favourite, but it's actually all the stuff I have to do to get ready for a run that gets in the way. My brain hates it. Any tips from those in the know for making that easier? Is there a way to streamline this process?

    If this is correct, in the Sunday Times, then this is another example of aggressive litigation letters being counter-productive.

    Succinct and measured letters, and more in sorrow than anger, are often far more effective.
