Sock is too exposed at the top of the shoe, leading to an unexpected clash of color or style, sock is squashed up the leg by the boot and disrupts the natural fit of the pant, slouch sock (the worst), and sometimes the shoe makes the sock seam really obvious around my toenails for no apparent reason.

I splurged on an electric bike ($2k) instead of investing in upgrading my vehicle. I haven’t sold my vehicle yet, but now I prefer to bike to the store than drive. The way our town is laid out, you have to drive around a few other businesses and through two busy traffic light sections to get to the supermarket, but on foot or bike you can just cut down the back of a strip mall and halve the distance. Now, I get exercise on grocery runs, I am limited in space so I don’t impulse buy, I don’t have to pay for gas, I don’t have to sit in traffic, I have less chance of getting into an accident, AND it’s just as quick as going by car. My only complaint is the lack of bike parking in the parking lot, so I have to chain it up to a fence round back.

Christ, we cancelled it a month ago and I feel so fucking stupid. Stupid that we had it for so long for… what? I don’t need anything so quickly that a couple of days delivery makes a difference. Food, water, heat, somewhere to sleep are things I need on a strict schedule. Knock off earbuds and some silicone molds for frozen shot glasses can absolutely wait. AND IT’S STILL FREE SHIPPING, you just add to cart and buy once you hit $35.

One sneezes in your face, one pisses in the bath, and we’re pretty sure the third one has cat autism or some auditory dysfunction as the slightest noise (doorbell, motorbike, house noises) sends him into a panic, which in turn becomes violence. And he’s almost 20lbs, which can do a lot of damage when it’s launching at you with claws out.

I found this one on an old man’s Instagram account. It was really nice! I subbed some of the stock for a can of IPA.

Lentil Soup Recipe

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 chopped onion
4 cloves of chopped garlic
3 medium carrots, chopped
2 stalks of celery, chopped
2 tablespoons of tomato paste
1 can of diced tomatoes
1/8 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes, or more to taste
1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, or more to taste
1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
1 teaspoon of cumin
1 teaspoon of chili powder
1 teaspoon of salt
6 cups of chicken stock
1 cup of red lentils, rinsed and drained
1/2 cup of yellow lentils, rinsed and drained

Instructions:

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
Add onions and garlic and cook until the onion is translucent, about five minutes.
Stir in the carrots and celery and cook until the vegetables are tender, about eight more minutes.
Stir in your tomato paste, crushed red pepper, cayenne pepper (if you decide to use), salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, cumin, and chili powder.
Mix in your lentils and chicken stock.
Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to low and simmer until the lentils are soft, about 40 minutes.

Absolutely. AI is really good at single tasks of specific types. For example, it’s great for organizing your emails, or creating filler content for a website, or helping suggest responses for customer support people. And sure, it did an amazing job creating code for a Google spreadsheet so I could easily scrape radio websites for their competitions and win festival tickets for the seventh year in a row. But in all these things it’s incredibly one dimensional, and still needs a human to guide it. People come to my demo calls thinking that AI agents are fully possible and capable. Nope, not yet.

I told my husband I was one of the few lucky ones who didn’t have a Me Too story, until he pointed out the time in the club where a man shoved his hand down the back of my pants and tried to grope me and I grabbed his fingers and bent them back until he screamed like a bitch, and the time I was walking alone by the canal and a man chased me and I ran into a business and they had to lock the door to stop him getting in.

It’s so bad for women that these situations don’t feel like anything to complain about. Because nothing technically happened.
