Me: Due to the way modern English evolved from interactions between Germanic English commoners and the French-speaking Norman nobility, English vocabulary tends to use French cognates for "high" words and German for "low". This gives Anglophones a subconscious bias where French phonetics feel inherently elegant. However this is basically historical coincidence, placing ordinary French speech on a pedestal, really it's otheringโ€”
