    Ich wollte meine nutzen, um Regenrinnen zu kontrollieren. In Dachnähe bei Schrägdach scheint es anders windig zu sein :-)

    Nachdem die Nord-Süd-Trassen nach Bayern und Bawü immer noch nicht existieren, existiert den größten Teil des Jahres im Norden ein Strom-Überschuß, der nicht dort hin transportiert werden kann, wo er gebraucht wird.

    Was tun? Abregeln ist doof!

    Eine Tonne Wasserstoff hat einen Brennwert von ca. 140 MJ oder 39 MWh. Elektrolyse kommt so bei 70% (+/- 10%) Effizienz rein.

    5000t H2 sind also 195 GWh Energiegehalt im H2 bei bummelig 280 GWh Verbrauch.

    @isotopp Was mich auch mal interessieren würde: Gibt es irgendwie eine sinnvolle Berechnungsgrundlage ( irgendein Mittelwert bzgl. unterschiedlicher Hardware etc. ), wieviel Enegrie ein HTTP Request über ~5-10 Hops kostet?

    Hintergrund der Frage: Wenn ich eine komplette JS Lib einbinde, nur um einen anderen QuerySelector zu nutzen, um einen Tag zu selektieren, schicke ich halt sehr viel unnützen Datenmüll durch die Gegend.

    Wenn ich das mal auf alle Webseiten extrapoliere, wäre es mal /1

    @isotopp spannend zu wissen, wieviel unnütze Daten in Form von Libraries etc. täglich durchs Netz geistern und wieviel unnütze Energie wir damit verbraten. 2/2

    Jau. Wenn ich hier mit meinen ESPs hantiere, dann versuche ich die möglichst auch immer low power zu betreiben.

    Aber höchstwahrscheinlich wird @isotopp recht haben, dass das, was da an JS, CSS etc. Frameworks rumgeistert, nicht die wirklich großen Player sind, wenn auch dennoch unnötig.

    Ich denke auch, dass es eher VoD, Cloud, Ki und Ads sind, die die meiste Power ziehen.

    Nichtsdestotrotz ist das auch mal spannend zu recherchieren.

    Es geht mir bei der Thematik auch eher um den Gedanken "Efficeny by Design".

    Wir sind ja mittlerweile sowei, dass wir bei jeder Entwicklung immer auch die DSGVO im Hinterkopf haben, Security by Design, usw. usf.

    Und daher stellt sich mir die Frage, ob man nicht auch wesentlich mehr einen Focus auf stromreduzierende Softwarentwicklung legen sollte.

    I.S. muss denn die Waschmaschine 50GB ins Netzwerk schießen? Brauch ich denn dieses oder jenes Framework?

    Starting a 5 hour of a new drawer for my so that it has 4 USB ports for charging devices. 2x USB-A and 2x USB-C. Using snap-in ports and 12V to 5V buck converters.

    OK. 3D printing has become a lot better in the past few years. The precision I get out of this 140€ Creality Ender Pro 2 is truly impressive. Printing .12mm layers with a .4mm nozzle and some rather old PLA (new stuff is on the way) and it is stunningly good. Wow.

    A micro SD card box with one card to test the fit. Still on the printbed, right after the printer finished its job.
    The Creality Ender Pro 2 at its official new place in my apartment, loaded with a roll of white PLA, ready to print.

    My manager has made it very clear that "25-01-2024" is the correct git tag for today's date, but dang it, my brain won't parse it right. Especially when its ambiguous like "04-01-2024".

    (Trying to get consistent about timestamps for manually cut git releases but we keep using the US format out of habit)

    Ich bin außerdem sicher, ihr habt das Thema nicht vergessen. 😁 2023 wäre IMO das erste Jahr, in dem man evtl bevölkerungsweit einen Effekt auf die Fruchtbarkeit sehen könnte, wenn er denn hinreichend groß wäre (was ich nicht glaube, tbh).

    I mean it shouldn't matter with 15 items in each and then it's only philosophical question. But when it comes to thousands or million entries?
