Given that on top of everything else his party has done over the last 14 years Sunak has called the election for a day when I won’t be able to poll clerk and thereby done me out of a day’s extra earning, I’ve resumed my previous attempt at learning this tune of @squeezyjohn ’s - I think I’ve more or less got it:

Here’s a cracking Jean Blanchard tune I can’t believe I don’t remember before hearing it on Mel’s yesterday so I have to share for - Boite a Frissons

I heard this and thought “Gallopede” but apparently this called “Knife’s Edge” except that if you search for that you find another tune instead… so I don’t know what I’m sharing this except that it is early .

I may have mentioned it before, but Billy Pigg’s playing is awesome. Here he is ripping through the Morpeth Rant on - https://youtu.be/CFj8rD2cCkQ

I get the vibe of serious opening credits for what it makes you expect to be a serious TV sci-fi series - that then turns out to be a sitcom. (I don’t know why, and it is a comment not a criticism - it’s really quite soothing!)

“La Roulante” by Jean Blanchard - with my usual pedantry that it is a simple and easy basic courtesy to call tunes by the name their composer gave them at least while they’re still alive.
It must be

My 41st - while still wading through weightier tomes I wanted to read something quicker and easier… which it may be in some ways, but not others. Inspiring, depressing, exhausting… not as good as for example Rebirding but a grounding reminder of the need for action.

As I've not really played it since getting my Serafini, I'm considering selling my Hohner Erika in G/C.
It's a Mike Rowbotham special, which he set up for me in 2017, and added a third (lower) voice and an extra four bass/chord buttons to give 12. If I let it go I'll be looking for £1,000. Delivery possible within a reasonable distance of Bedford, UK, or postage within the UK at buyers cost. More details in the next post.

The right hand layout has accidentals in two octaves - low on the first button of each row, high in the middle of the half row. There are G/A reversals on each end of the half row.

The usual basses/chords are at the bottom on the left hand, then above there are reversals for C and D on the outside row, and pushed B & pulled Bb on the inside.

Stops let you remove the low voice on the right hand end, and the thirds from the chords on the left.

Pair of Mally straps with buckle covers, and rucksack gigbag, included.

It's like they're just throwing up their hands and admitting that they can't even be bothered to try to convince us anymore. There's no viable sales pitch for any aspect of this way of life. This is basically an ad for bicycles, transit and walking... https://www.youtube.com/shorts/kmOoQTp8i28

Proposal: stop saying stuff like "we're destroying the planet" and change it to "they're destroying the planet", to pivot away from self blame when most of us don't have the power to change things and definitely would if we could, and towards laying the blame squarely on the elites propping up the fossil fuel industry so we can focus our collective anger on those actually responsible

@eniko
Remember to put your letter in a big envelope together with a roof tile (big enough to just go in a post box) and don’t put a stamp on it.
That way they will have to pay the postage not you - and it isn’t like they can’t afford it.

I just found this and only had time to listen to the start, I am sharing it here so that I can find it tomorrow - plus I suspect some of you will appreciate an hour plus recording of John Kirkpatrick and Sue Harris playing St Andrews folk club in 1972!

About to attend a webinar on “how AI can solve current transport problems”. I’m on tenterhooks to find out how computer programs pretending to be people will end the gross overuse of automobiles and the blight of air travel. Somehow I doubt they will be defining our transport problems in the same way as me.

I like the sound of “okay now” far better than “A&E”. Hope it wasn’t too bad.

PSA - you also need to be introduced to them, if you don’t know their music already.

excellent, I really like classical music on unexpected instruments. I was thinking last night that I should re-learn Die Fiorelle on melodeon and maybe some Wagnerian themes.

So, having borrowed a modern A.C. Norman for a month or so at the start of the year this week I have bought my own. It’s not perfect, but it is not at all bad and was nicely priced. It is a and dates to around 1900, but we can’t be too precise as it is a “marriage” box which is apparently what people call a cut-and-shut assembled from several donors to make one working box.
As if I don’t already play too many instruments (badly)…
