When you live in a rural area it can really suck not having transportation. And living under a thermal belt means weather forecasts are rarely accurate about precipitation.

I'm sitting at home with errands I need to run but its not stopped raining now for a couple days straight. AccuWeather claimed a break in rain at 10AM then they changed several times and now another day is a wash out. With potential thunderstorms tomorrow. 😡

Dear @Gargron,

Please reevaluate your decision to incentivise centralisation on mastodon.social in the official app.

This is the sort of design a VC-funded startup would implement, not a non-profit acting in the interests of a healthy commons.

I’m sure you don’t want mastodon.social to become mini-Twitter and you don’t want to become mini-Musk.

That’s not how we win this.

More instances, not larger instances is the key.

@aral I know one of the complaints made about Mastodon has been an on boarding issue particularly choosing an instance as a first time user. I don't agree with @Gargron in the way it was done but do understand trying to address the issue.

A new Misskey/Calckey client for iOS just came out!

It’s called Kimis. Unlike other clients, the interface is accessible in English.

This is much needed because Misskey doesn’t use Mastodon’s API—it has its own. Which means most Fediverse clients aren’t usable with Misskey.

But that’s okay because Kimis is here to the rescue!

Just got a comment from a fellow chastising me for talking about the Fediverse beyond Mastodon.

He thinks we’re dropping the ball on Twitter migration by not focusing 100% on Mastodon.

However, 30% of the Fediverse doesn’t run on Mastodon.

Some server software, like Friendica, was on the Fediverse 6 years before Mastodon was created.

Sorry we’re not shutting things down just because Twitter migrants recently showed up.

@atomicpoet with things like Reddit changing its API access and other sites following Twitter's lead in becoming restrictive to the point of exclusionary we need to promote ALL of the Fediverse not just Mastodon.
