Cool beans! That's amazing.

There must be something about their playfulness that causes them to do that...

I love all of that empty sky, sky, sky anchored by a tiny bit of mountain...

Lovely.

@DemocracySpot
Ha! I’m from NE Iowa, so they look like mountains to me!

Maybe too poetic, but it was exactly that tiny sliver of worn down-ness in tension with the expansive sky that did it for me.

Second year of burning the oak woodland we are trying to restore.

More open space already equals more red headed woodpeckers!

View through open windows woodland. Smoke hangs low to the ground. Blue sky above.

A border collie way up in a tree investigating a squirrel hole.

Usually it's the Dutchie (on the ground) who climbs trees, but border collies seem to learn a lot through observation. :)

Whodathunkit?

A short video showing a border collie about 12 feet up in a leaning tree investigating a hole in the trunk. Underneath a brindle Dutch shepherd watches expectantly.

First honeybee of the season on today’s beautiful morning, foraging on nearby crocus and other flowers emerging from long dormant bulbs. This ‘flower’ though wasn’t tasty, only colourful and warmed by the sun.

On warm late winter days the honeybees from the neighbor’s hives will sometimes visit the coffee grounds in our compost pile looking for something powdery, an old bee keeper once told me.

I love to look for stories on my walks. Here, evidence the finches, sparrows, and chickadees know where to find some sustenance.

in my case, the thought would be a lot better with her help...

she's got a few flaws in her thinking. For instance, that skunk she thought looked interesting a couple weeks ago might not have been such a good idea.
