Substance_P,

WOW! They can buy a comfortable house in Terre Haute Indiana.

Substance_P,

Brilliant, A.I does the heavy lifting takes data for free then resells access to it while us who contributed for the last decade don’t get a dime.

Substance_P,

Hello, I would like to suggest, as others have, that four times per year would be a good compromise. I attempted to access the poll link, but as a privacy advocate—likely a common trait among those discussing open source—I was unable to vote because of my VPN. Also, I just wanted to share my thoughts and express my appreciation for your efforts in taking on this project.

Here’s how WhatsApp plans to interoperate with other messaging apps

https://www.theverge.com/2024/2/6/24063705/whatsapp-interoperability-plans-eu-dma

@technology

Substance_P,

In the EU, there are standards that must be adhered to, but it’s unclear what privacy standards Meta will maintain or discard in other parts of the world. Their “free” WhatsApp messenger monetizes by collecting user data, including device information, contacts’ phone numbers, and usage patterns. This data collection also allows them to pinpoint your location and share this information with Facebook.

Outside the EU, Meta could potentially use other apps to supplement these data points. It has been well documented that WhatsApp/Meta has shared this data with authorities when required in the past. This move doesn’t give me the warm and fuzzies.

Substance_P,

Ok free speech advocates this is your time to shine.

Substance_P,

The Mozilla Foundation found that in late 2023, 92 percent of the automakers reviewed provided drivers with little to no control over their personal data. Additionally, 84 percent shared user data with third parties.

Why isn’t there more consumer outrage over this? And why haven’t lawmakers addressed this on a national level, given the potential dangers posed by this data collection?

Substance_P,

There may have been one, but the DNC and dark money would never have allowed it.

Substance_P,

Well I would argue that the DNC did stop Bernie with the desire to get Hillary on the ballot. But getting back to the question; It’s a long shot because of the naturalized citizen angle, but Cenk Uygur (known from the TYT podcasts) perhaps would be an interesting choice. A Turkish-born American though, sadly this will disqualify him with the current electoral rules, but at least he’s educated, and not over 80, and I know he’s fighting to stay in the run despite these hurdles.

Substance_P,

That tie certainly has a grip on his neck.

Substance_P,

Nice! I do much of the same kind of thing, not professional either, but sometimes my designs just need another pair of eyes, or at times just a plain makeover. Cheers for the offer.

Where are the good political songs? (piped.video)

I feel like there are lots of parallels between the eighties and now (recession/inflation, yuppies/inequality, skin-heads/fascists, hot-cold wars etc.) but there used to be protest music! Where is that stuff now? Music that’s intelligent and outraged - like we should be!...

Substance_P,

I love this question. Perhaps there is also the record labels and mainstream media that prioritize marketability and mass appeal, which most probably would discourage artists from producing overtly political content, the stuff that may be thrown into the controversial or polarizing basket just doesn’t pull in the bucks these days.

Substance_P,

I agree with the first sentence, not so much the second part. The apathy and lack of fight in Biden’s campaign sucks, it’s like the democrats are defending the title but bringing a pillow to the boxing ring.

Substance_P,

Creating a honey trap to lure people by portraying oneself as underage and vulnerable is not an effective solution to the problem. Instead, it only adds to the issue and may even exacerbate it. Some individuals who engage in such activities might not be intending to act on their impulses, but rather, they might be drawn in by the opportunity to exploit underlying problems in others for personal gain.

No you are not a good human.

I made Margherita pizza! (sh.itjust.works)

I used premade dough from Sprouts -this was the first and last time using store bought dough - tomato sauce - made with with sauteed garlic, olive oil salt, basil, oregano, and chili flakes - heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, ricotta, fresh basil. I finished it with fresh basil, olive oil, and fresh grated aged parmesan....

Substance_P,

Looks amazing! Did you cold ferment the dough?

Substance_P,

Cool, it was amazing to see this, I just did a block party with two ooni style ovens, managed to push out 50 pies and yours for the most part takes the prize for perfection. Nice work 👍

Substance_P,

So can your IMEI, with leaking apps and push notifications our phones are essentially digital snitches in our pockets.

Substance_P,

Great, they can call it “Texit” and we all know how successful that movement is shaping up over the pond.

Substance_P,

“As CEO, I’m accountable for the changes we’re making and where we’re headed in the future.”

Hello AI

Substance_P,

Koshie’s face looks too sharp, it looks like some dodgy AI or photoshop right there.

Substance_P, (edited )

Yep, and what boundaries constitutes a church, synagogue, mosque or place of worship these days, and why is one religion tax free, yet a philosophical movement is not? To whom is respon$ible for making these institutions exempt of taxation? I for one would be a proud supporter of a church that actually upholds the tenants of biblical teachings, and also follows in the footsteps of those morals, but it’s all just a sad sad part of modern day capitalism. This Pastor is a hero and should be heralded as such.

Substance_P,

Thanks for the post, don’t pay mind to the trolls, keep it up! Also incredible footage, Santiago Chile seems like a hotspot for this.

Substance_P, (edited )

I actually make it myself but a jar of Nam Prik Pao Thai chili paste always for me, kicks noodle stir frying to another level. The best brand I’ve found is Mae Pranom (popular in Thailand) but often a brand Kasma’s Thai Chili Paste is available in the States.

Substance_P,

I’ve been using iask.ai or Phind.com for mostly quick answers to my simple questions, these get me by but I’m no coder or author and I have noticed these options are often pretty terrible for math queries.

Edit: the above services I’m pretty sure are not open source, but their privacy policies seem reasonable.

Substance_P,

Well Apple has to do something after the Barclay’s downgrade.
