Long COVID friends, need your help.

Friend has . US-based Corporate Employer is bullying them with RTO.
What's the least traumatic way to get a doc's note? Can PCPs provide? Is this covered by ADA?

@windrunner @upol if they were showing remote work during the pandemic does that establish a “reasonable accommodation” that has already been granted and now is being removed?

I feel like folks in California were arguing that remote work during the pandemic was an accommodation that once granted can’t be easily revoked?

My dad, a dr., was an award-winning photographer, but would never take money for his work. He got his photos in National Geographic calendar and other places, won contests, etc, but wouldn’t take a dime.

I’m going through his photos (he took, developed them himself, start to finish), have to get rid of a ton bc we can’t take them to Canada, 100s of mounted 11x14s. I’ll share some soon.

& if you’re very very good, I’ll also share a pic of me at 19 that he took in London. 😊 Maybe even more.

@GottaLaff There are Buy Nothing groups on Facebook. Hyper local to your neighborhood. Post and people will come to your house and get them. Normally same day.

I’m also antiFacebook, but these groups are pretty awesome.

We have a woman in our neighborhood who rescues all the books they throw out at her job. Once a month she fills her driveway with books and the neighborhood buy nothing group comes and picks through them.

Webdev nerds: I don't know the terminology here, but what are some good examples of services that work as JS overlays to add functionality to sites? Thinking of things like Memberful (or Discus) where JS scripts “extend" the functionality of HTML pages (e.g. by adding membership or commenting capabilities). Any other good examples?

Now would be a really good time to have a modern feed reader like Google Home, and also for sites to embrace RSS again.

Not sure what news sites think happens as the big sites die, but it sure isn't "and now we all browse their sites directly, looking for what news we care about in between popups and ads and sign up demands"

@glassbottommeg I use Feedly. They can find the rss feed or create one for you. They also do newsletters. They have an app and a website for your pc. Their AI feeds are getting better, but you have to pay for that feature.

Some of my students want to do a little animation as a part of their project. They know how to 3D model in tinkercad... and that's about the level of software I'm looking for. Nothing with too many features. The ability to build a model, add a few simple joints and set some key frames. Then spit out a 15-30 second video.

(It need not be 3D animation. Could be a 2D space)

Is there anything like that out there?
