Granddad with adult son who is neurodivergent with Downs and shares name with his nephew. Both are treasures. Partner Bob, agrees. Know insurrection when we see it. Woke Again Christian fed up with organized religion exerting control over politics & capitalist system putting profit of rich over health of planet & basic needs of underprivileged Americans. Go legal branch! I listen to new & emerging artists. He/him. Far less serious than the profile paints. #KCRW, #WAPS, #KEXP, #MVYRadio

What is interesting is so many young white men believe they are entitled to respect by birthright, and when it doesn't go as expected, they act as if society has rejected them, and completely lose their shit. They think they have a right to violent behavior, because the world is so "unfair" Meanwhile, this is only a tiny taste of what minorities deal with every day.
In conclusion, dude you literally got away with murder, SHUT. THE. FUCK. UP.

I’m not a minority yet (I don’t think), nor do I fear it. I refuse to open anything from this failed white human.

Looks like you had quite a few hills to ascend. But possibly a beautiful journey.

So this was concerning when I got home from work and opened the mailbox. It’s a MAGA letter from a neighbor. We found the neighbor responsible in two minutes in voter registrations. We live on a culdesac. And the guy who wrote the letter lives behind the house on the other side of the culdesac. 75 yards maybe. One of the cons of living in the outer burbs on the edge of civilization. It’s all rural to the south and west.

In Akron, they’re rebuilding the overpasses downtown. It’s still a work in progress. Same with Columbus.

Eno’s formative album shaped my music taste completely explaining much of the reason I currently enjoy DJ Alex & Pacific Notions each Sunday morning on KEXP. They’re both treasures. The first time I heard Music for Airports was at Chicago O’Hare traveling the flat escalator between terminals. Somehow I found the the music again, probably from the Trinity College radio station. Or possibly Rolling Stone. But who knows?

And in this corner, weighing in at 7 lbs, 10 ozs is Finn Samuel, born during a storm named Finn, completely by coincidence. He has his great-grandma’s red hair and grandma was thrilled to learn.

Grandpa looking down at Finn and so amazingly pleased to meet him.

It’s just a couple degrees warmer than yesterday with the same light snow. But today it melts fast making for a damp walk with small puddles. I walked out on the valley floor hoping the snow was getting caught in the burs and thorns of the wild grass and brush. This can make for a magical landscape. But no luck. So I circled back to walk up Blockers creek again setting myself up for yet another disappointment. All I got was wet feet.

A view up Blockers creek and you can see the small heavy snowflakes falling through the trees lining the stream.

From the parking lot at work this morning. It was cold. But at least the sun was rising which we haven’t seen in a while.

Bob, Sam and Mario outside the Cuyahoga Valley National Park visitor center in Peninsula a year ago. Bob was little more mobile then. Hoping 2024 brings Bob some much needed relief.

The final walk of the year was less than inspiring given the grey and gloomy weather, once again. So motivation and purpose came in the form of a plastic bag. So I walked the neighborhood picking up trash strategically heading towards dumpsters at local apartments and businesses. The bag was worn out when emptied for the fifth time.

Longer view over a small pond and across the valley under thick grey sky.

The sun came out a little more and the weather transformed delightfully. There were runners and walkers and dogs walking humans. The sun’s power increased sufficiently to cast a shadow in the final picture. No deer were seen. Unfortunately they thinned the population earlier this year.

A look into the woods along the wetlands of the creek.
View of the creek from the bridge to the parking lot near the golf course.
Finally got the shadow shot after several failed attempts. The shadow landed on the bank of the river below the bridge.
