It’s a dreary day but I did a slow mile walking this morning. I pulled my hamstring so can’t do more than that right now while trying to stretch out of the problem.

View down the street is colorful.
With the leaves dropping there are still signs of life. A yellow flower.
No turkey vultures today, but there’s a chatty Croat the very top of the trees not too happy with my presence.

The prediction of a short walk was correct. We got .7 miles from Sam and Mario, no need for the umbrellas.

Slow morning. Sam just finished dressing, Bob just got up. Sam spent most of the morning bothering his dad with finely targeted silence and inaction when consistenly asked to get dressed.

I walked a couple miles bundled up in sweatshirt & windbreaker with a hat and light gloves. Temps dropped from 80s to 40s almost overnight. It’s also really windy. Sam doesn’t handle change well so it may be a few weeks until he walks again. Spotted the first leaf pile of the season keeping the Halloween decorations company. Keeping to the sunnier streets, I avoided walking directly into the wind when possible. I turned around at the turkey vulture charging on the electric lines. They scare me.

I agree, I lost a good job in my mid-50’s and found nothing at all in the same line of work. But I managed to learn another. At 66, my first day as program director begins tomorrow.
