Disable Autosave to prevent Save Corruption

I just played a session and noticed that saving didn’t work properly anymore - I would enter a save name and hit save, but afterwards, the save would not appear in the list. When I tried to reload the last appearing save in the list, the game told me it detected save corruption and could not load it. After the initial wailing...

Infinite HP (kinda spoilerish?)

While there is no at-will cantrip that directly heals, the unlockable illithid power Transfuse Health lets one heal another character at the cost of half one’s current hp. Now you’ll be thinking, “that’s not infinite”, and you’d be mostly right - except warlocks can create 7 temp hp at will with the eldritch...

beebarfbadger,

If you ungroup all party members (drag their portraits apart), they shouldn’t move either.

beebarfbadger,

It’s just a way to top up three party members for free between fights as long as your warlock has more than one hp left - nothing more, nothing less.

beebarfbadger, (edited )

Just tried it with Shadowheart warding my warlock. Strangely enough, she took the same amount of damage my main character took, not halved. If she’s the target, then we stay the same, once the warlock heals someone else, Shadowheart just takes the full damage without any upside or mitigation on either character. Looks like that loophole doesn’t work.

beebarfbadger,

Tomato - tomahto, health potion - health suppository; it’s all semantics, really…

beebarfbadger,

Let me help you upgrade your numbers: your instance now has less than 10 000 users.

beebarfbadger,

Well, I didn’t read your comments, but you should stop eating baby kittens.

Save corruption?

When will the patches be stable enough that one would -with a reasonable degree of certainty- no longer expect save corruption anymore in the process? Because I will not, can not, do the first couple hours yet again at this point. I may roll another character when things have settled down and any further twiddling will be mostly...

beebarfbadger,

I only saw that the last one failed to load and one further down the list elicited the same message and then I broke. The loading times themselves are almost long enough as is to make me consider playing something else under the best of circumstances (especially for a heavy save-scummer like me) and not being able to trust the saves I do have in the first place just deflated any leftover enthusiasm right then and there.

beebarfbadger,

No.

beebarfbadger,

Living from patch to patch in the knowledge that maybe some obsolete mods or current mods or incompatibilities between a patch and the alignment of the moon’s left side may well annihilate all my progress once again at any point in a game the size of BG3 does not heighten my enthusiasm to play right now.

beebarfbadger,

If the god existed surely they would have the bright idea to drop some updated material every few decades and maybe make the occasional clarifying announcement to humanity.

Oh, but God does and coincidentally God’s will always coincides with what the person proclaiming to relay God’s will wants to be true .

beebarfbadger,

Did I just subscribe? Yes. Was it out of pure pettiness because spez behaves like a wannabe despot? Also yes.

beebarfbadger,

What about not maliciously and completely unnecessarily taking away the good tools already available out of sheer greed and then pretending that complaining about that is the real problem?

beebarfbadger,

That would cost more than zero monies though.

I play with god mode on and i am not ashamed

I mean, the tactical battles are fun, but deep into final act, they become prolonged and tiresome to a point I stopped really bothering and instead focus on a story. Especially enemies getting anywhere from 2 to four actions per turn, that is really asinine if you have party where everyone has 1+1 actions....

beebarfbadger,

I see it this way: I could reload after every failed roll, and knowing me, I would too, but the only difference between that and using the no-inspiration-cost mod is that I lose minutes of my life time on every load without any upside, so mods it is.

beebarfbadger,

Who’d have thought that arbitrary despotism had consequences?

beebarfbadger, (edited )

You wouldn’t happen to mean

this

this,

this

and this video by any chance, would you?

Edit: #5

beebarfbadger,

All I hear is “we´d lose too many our costumers if we had to tell them how we´re fleecing them.”

beebarfbadger,

Focusing on fixing any leftover nitpicks before even putting out the customary “sorry-we-fucked-up-so-spectacularly” apology letter that every AAA game comes with these days?

The peeps at Larian gotta reconsider their priorities.

beebarfbadger,

This documantary brings up some very valid points about the subject matter if you have an hour and a half to burn: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tspGVbmMmVA
