I put some #rainbow diffuser film on the window above my front door. If the sun is bright and you catch it at the right moment it is a lovely treat. I also have the same on the other side of the house, so the kitchen and the stairs are a riot of colour in the afternoon too. Happy #pride month everybody.

I love this reaction to hearing Frownland by Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band from the challenging album Trout Mask Replica. YouTube channels that are based on reactions to music are an industry and if you invite submissions from subscribers you’ll eventually end up with a curve ball like this. His reaction after the track has finished is entirely appropriate for anyone’s first listen to this music. One of the great things about late 80s / early 90s #TOTP is it allows me to (yet again) repeat my idea that the rave and dance music bands of that time were the punk rock of their time.

Not in the type of music, but in the ethos.

Anyone who could scrape together a couple of hundred quid for a synth and a drum machine, and mix it with a classic soul track, was well on their way to creating a legendary dancefloor banger. Just like 20 years earlier anyone who could get a second-hand Fender and a drum kit could propel themselves into the country's punk clubs.

Naked In The Rain by the way is an absolute BANGER of a tune.
