Since it will be well over a week before the replacement axle for my car arrives, I decided I should get my converted 1976 KZ400 running again. Very long story. In the mid-2000s I ran it with Pb acid batteries. Then I put NiCd batteries on it but never finished that traction pack change over. Then I got Li batteries, did a lot of work on it but stopped with only the low voltage wiring to complete. So, after literally decades, time to get the old bike running again since my car is in limp mode.
I caught the start of a #rodent nest in my #Toyota#Tacoma engine bay. They were using the insulation from the underside of the plastic engine cover and stuffing it between the intake runners and the top of the engine.
What are people using as rodent deterrents these days?
@douglasvb How often do you drive your Tacoma? That's the first deterrent - driving (or running the engine) every day.
Actually, I do it at least every other day along with the peppermint spray. I also have a LED bulb that automatically turns on when dark in a trouble light fixture I keep under the engine pointing up. I suspect running the engine is more effective than the spray or light. Tried traps, but after catching a native lizard, stopped.
I had $2K damage to a chewed wiring harness a couple years ago and was suddenly glad I had comprehensive insurance. No issue since then, knock on wood.
This is from my very first visit to this amazing place. I was in such awe I only managed to take a couple photos. I've since been back many, many times and have many, many wonderful photos (some of which I've already shared here and more to come, I'm sure.)
@elaterite Thanks! The secret is out, however, and the prime campsites fill early during the pleasant times of year. Still, there are wonderful views all over.
I hope this sells well. I won’t buy it, I didn’t get very far into S2 of Ted Lasso, but I’d like physical releases of other AppleTV+ films and show. Such as CODA and Severance.
Throwback to summer. I’ve applied for some funding to upgrade my drone so here’s a shot with my Mavic 2 Pro. A panorama of Qajuutinnguaq down Adams Sound from home. #Nunavut#Arctic#LandscapePhotography#Drone
@NunavutBirder Lovely. The M2P takes very nice panos, though I frequently just take singles as DNGs and stitch in PS.
I do love the spherical panos it makes!
Ceramics class! I made a trio of mugs, two of which are marbled, and I started on one of these donut shaped jugs that I was reading about on Wikipedia. That donut is hollow
