Go app based, and keep it something that doesn’t sync (preferably) to external servers.

I’m using andOTP currently for mine. You can create backups every now and again and store them off your phone for safe keeping too 🙂

Any Alan Tudyk role, I jump right on in! Its corny at times, but enjoyable.

My hope is 1 more season, because beyond that it turns into “big bang theory” levels of seasons 🙃

This would probably be a good set of 10m episodes 🤣

Hell ya. I’ve been enjoying Navidrome, mainly because it supports subsonic api requests and has a relatively clean UI

To be fair, anyone that wants to run in a primary against the incumbent is already going to receive less due to the “never run against them” unwritten rule. We’ve been primed to see it as a failing strategy, and anyone that tries gets shouted down because “now is not the time.”

I’ll readily admit that some great things have been done this presidency, and Biden needs to be more vocal about that. However, his age being part of the conversation means that they’re too afraid to actually have him talk about it (it seems like).

I dunno. I haven’t felt less excited to vote in my life, and that’s due to the pressure all around.

“Vote or it’s fascism” is a great motivator to get out, but when it turns into a yearly thing it no longer it no longer feels like duty.

And yes, voting to stop fascism is a good thing. What I’m getting at is that apathy is going to win until we get someone that we can actually be excited for. Another Neo-liberal win isn’t the victory that gives me high hopes for the future.

I…are you being intentionally obtuse here? My point is that “putting in the work” quickly is overshadowed by the DNC having the largest megaphone available.

And a lot of us are working to just live. “Putting in the work” means either taking away what little time you have to decompress, or not working and instead stomping for that ideal candidate, by taking leave from work.

And aside from that, I was pointing out the “why” of it. Stop being abrasive and actually come into a topic willing to listen and talk.

Yepp, nothing to worry about here.

It feels like governments have just seen this as a foregone conclusion and are trying to position in an “every person for themselves” kind of deal. Sure, we’ve finally done something to cut emissions, but it’s the slowest possible move they can make.

Huh, seems really interesting that it happened during a live interview. And that guy seems really non-surprised that it happened.

I’m sure it’s totally real.

Was doing deliveries in college, considered the fastest one there. This was due to be actively running orders to houses / apartments.

Well, one such occasion I was coming back through a dark parking lot and thought I had another foot before the curb. Proceeded to land on the side of my ankle and roll to the ground. Figured it was fine (forgot adrenaline was a thing) so I got back to the car and drove to the store. Manager told me to go home lol.

Getting home, finally pulled off the shoes and socks and, boy oh boy, there was a softball in my ankle. University med clinic said it was just a severe sprain and to just keep off it.

To this day, 10 years on, my ankle is still slightly swollen. I can still run and walk on it though

Gentle reminder to everyone that support for ends in about 90 weeks. Many computers can't upgrade to Win 11 so here are your options:

 1. Continue on Win 10 but with higher security risks.
 2. Buy new and expensive hardware that supports Win11.
 3. Try a beginner friendly distro like . It only takes about two months to acclimate.

The fact that the response from IDF is to say “nuh uh, this is just propaganda, and we’re in the right anyways because they are the bad guys” is just so frustratingly transparent, given that it’s an English news team recording it…

bravesilvernest,
@bravesilvernest@lemmy.ml avatar

Oh interesting to see a Palestinian voice on that side of the…wait, what site is this? Why does the FP sound familiar…

And what is this article… https://lemmy.ml/pictrs/image/87e2501a-f615-4e96-82c5-0489e567a038.png

Coleman Hughes on some inconvenient reporting that suggests Derek Chauvin is not a murderer, but a scapegoat.

Ahhhhhh ok.

bravesilvernest,
@bravesilvernest@lemmy.ml avatar

Good ole daily wire lol.

Not discounting the article so much as the sites running it. Granted there is always a bias, just some sites I personally see and just kinda of bypass.

bravesilvernest,
@bravesilvernest@lemmy.ml avatar

Totally! I read the article and then found the comment section and started rabbit-holing.

My point here was more along the lines that these sites specifically tend to adjust reporting more than normal. The “George Floyd” suggested article was the bit that really threw me until I recognized it.

While the article’s claims may be true, the positioning of the article’s could also adjust it for their purposes. Which, again, any news media will do. Just these guys are infamous for purposely stretching definitions of sources and articles.

I’ve been using it for about a month, and love it.

My one complaint: self-signed certs on reverse proxies seem to break the android app backup. I’m not sure why, but internal CA seems to make things angry. Its more likely to be a local setup issue than anything in immich, but frustrating to pin down.

bravesilvernest,
@bravesilvernest@lemmy.ml avatar

All the traffic is internal, so I can get away with it 🙃

Really was just interested in what cert generation entailed and did a fun little dive a few years back.

bravesilvernest,
@bravesilvernest@lemmy.ml avatar

My current backup strategy is BTSync, which while super easy to get going is a pain in the ass to look up old images. Using direct IP on the app works perfectly, and the DNS lookup only works internally anyways.

All that to say that I’m probably going to use it and remove the btsync approach in a couple months.

bravesilvernest,
@bravesilvernest@lemmy.ml avatar

I’m the bad guy that installed my CA where needed lol but nice!

bravesilvernest,
@bravesilvernest@lemmy.ml avatar

Here’s how I generated the CA:

# openssl genrsa -des3 -out my-ca.key 2048
# openssl req -x509 -new -nodes -key my-ca.key -sha256 -days 1825 -out my-ca.pem

I’m sure I’ll receive flak for how I went about it, but importing that pem into the “install certificates” bit of the settings works like a charm.
