After a long pre-order period, @jmechner's new book "REPLAY” arrived shortly after Passover! It's a graphic novel memoir that tells the story of his family. My french is so damn rusty, I had to wait for the English edition.
Looking forward to reading and sharing it with my daughter. (I’m not sure how childproof it is, but parts will be fine I'm sure).

Indie games will not be able to be in any type of alternative AppStore for iOS in the EU. This is crystal clear, because everybody did the math already, due to Unity”s horrible but now abandoned “download” fees. Apple had the same fucked-up idea.
@console Oof! I kind of think the people at EU who got the Digital Markets Act to happen will see clear as day this is just a trick to make sideloading non-viable for business.
If the EU is serious about the DMA, they should make adjustments to prevent exploits like this.
@ivory I’m not sure when this started, but in Ivory 1.8.1 on macOS and iOS gifs and videos no longer play. Neither autoplay, nor when manually hitting play. Thumbnails and Downloads work. This started a few days/short weeks ago.
Mastodon Website (my instance) as well as “Mammoth” client work. I've tried setting Display/Video Playback to “Always” and “Only on Wi-Fi” - sadly no change.
@ivory I mentioned our fix because this also means when an instance actually uses the rails fallback proxy (when ngnix cannot find a file), Ivory and Chrome doesn’t play videos. Images work.
Safari and Mammoth work. So maybe the bad Content-Security-Policy header (which makes no sense on assets) is something that your app maybe could ignore. But that's for you to decide. IMO Mastodon shouldn't send out the application headers when an asset is served.
Unfortunately #Elex didn't quite click with me, but I've bought and completed every single game they made. Gothic 2 is one of my most favourite games. Very good storytellers.

@cabel I have the same problem with junk posts at #Threads as you do. Today I noticed something strange: I opened the profile of one of the hate spammers and saw that I followed that account. At first I was baffled as to how this could happen, but then it dawned on me: I'm used to tapping on the round profile picture to review or block the account. In the Threads app, this action isn’t "open profile", but "follow and open profile”.
I pretty much followed all the garbage accounts I inspected.
The me from the past gave me a special gift this year. A ZX Spectrum Next financed on Kickstarter. I backed this project many years ago and the v2 model finally arrived a few days ago.
I've never had a #Speccy before. As far as I'm aware, it wasn't really a thing in AT back in the day. I am looking forward to exploring this world. I love the 320 page old-school manual that comes with it and am generally very impressed with the high quality of this product.
I find it amazing how much easier it is to use Windows just for entertainment: The system is so clean. I mostly stick to the standard applications and hardly anything is customised.
That wasn't the case at all when it was still my main operating system. It was a constant struggle to keep everything clean and tidy because my job required me to install and update so much stuff - very often without a package manager to help me.
