I think I am confused about how hashtags work over here. I followed a hashtag, but I do not see the posts in my Home. What exactly does following a hashtag do, if not putting them into my feed? Also, I am not sure where to find what tags I am following...

crmsnbleyd,
@crmsnbleyd@emacs.ch avatar

@graywolf not sure if it's a problem with the app you're using, but hashtags do show up on my feed (I'm using moshidon on android)

Similarly on moshidon you can see the hashtags you're following on your profile

was hitting issues in my config which manifested due to using use-package and straight.el along with setting straight-use-package-by-default to t.

Using use-package for built-ins like org-mode would error out since straight would try to download a package by that name.

Simple resolution was setting :straight to nil manually in that use-package form, so that it wouldn't be downloaded.

Hope this helps someone (or maybe it's really obvious and i was just clueless). Blog post I wrote about this, with much of the same content
https://drew.idktellme.com/use-package-with-straight.html

The best thing is the "Mythic I" is basically booting into just to launch so you can write. Period.

Lubricated thocky keyboard, wooden computer frame. Amazing.

my first personal laptop came with installed. I had wanted to save money on a windows license. I could not get doom to run on it for some reason (I was 15 and dumber than I am now), so I just installed Ubuntu instead of continuing with it.

Hello software dev side of Fedi, my ex-coworker at https://infoworks.io, Yogesh Kumar
is looking for a job currently. He's been stuck in sort of a paradoxical situation:
he's really good at competitive programming and so got hired at the absolute first
company that came knocking to his uni, and so he could not attend the hiring drives
of any other orgs. He spent a fruitful six months at Infoworks in QA and contributed
a lot. He's a super-fast learner and knew his way around our processes in no time.
Due to monetary pressures, he had to be let go at the end of his internship.

The issue is that due companies in India only wish to hire folks with experience
because they hire new graduates directly from unis. It was simply his rotten luck
that he happened to be offloaded from his first ever job, otherwise I'm certain
he would've been hired already by any company willing to give him a chance.

Here's his Linkedin, you can reach out to either him or me: https://www.linkedin.com/in/yogesh-kumar-a51707202. He's solved over 1400 Leetcode questions, which is frankly insane.

Just learned about use-package-report in . You have to set use-package-compute-statistics to t and reload all your packages (restart Emacs) and then by running the command you can see, for example, the time taken to load each package on startup. Useful for diagnosing long load times.

Alright, Google domains are now dying. Where are you moving your domains? Cloudflare? WordPress Com? AWS? Namecheap? Something else? It must be reliable with hardware 2FA. Please comment below. TIA.

Learned about the other day. Do any of you actually use it? What is the benefit of it over , which is pre-installed everywhere?

Wrote a little blog post primer on GNU Make for my friends just starting with their software careers who aren't that used to Unix (but I suppose they're using IDEs instead)

@madhu_shrieks @mastodonindians Homeopathy and Ayurveda have been on the up for a while, to the point that many armed forces hospitals have specific divisions for them. State sponsored homeopathy! One of my mates in college, his mum sent him homeopathic pills that claimed to protect from COVID-19, and this well-educated fellow says of course it works.
