Foolishly I did not expect the deluge of "COP28 was a roaring success" articles that have now appeared.
All of them filled with caveats and mitigating factors on why, according to their oh-so learned writer, not excluding fossil fuels from the future, is actually a huge win for mankind

@ronanmcd It seems like, judging in this case, the political participants must absolutely claim success. That non-binding clauses are nothing is irrelevant.

Maybe most political conferences are like this: more of a exclusive theme-club than a workgroup.

Men are the problem. All of them. They say shit like this: A newsletter in which a school principal writes that a man who killed a woman with a hammer in a bathroom was "in everybody's estimation, an absolute delight." He was "not a monster", he "did a monstrous act".
