"To prevent damage to the exterior, immediately remove corrosive substances (ex: grease, oil, bird droppings, tree resin, dead insects, tar spots, road salt, industrial fallout, etc.). Do not wait … If necessary use denatured alcohol to remove tar spots & stubborn grease stains, then immediately wash the area with water & a mild, non-detergent soap to remove the alcohol."

@annaleen I like your formulation, in Terraformers:

I'm Deborah, using "she".

Feels more respectful somehow (and less political) than what I encounter, in use currently. Nice.

Hi Corinna @CorinnaBaldauf

I was never quite sure I understood the meaning of "Fakten schaffen". So, here's a test:

The former president makes s*** up constantly, and presents it as fact when it serves him.

Does this qualify as "Fakten schaffen"?

Edit: found a taker :-)

(This reminds me: I have an actual Apple Newton (one of the later models) with accessories and manuals, in a box. Does someone want it? (you pay shipping from Canada) … )

Ah, the handwriting recognition. What a shame that they decimated that team.

I hate how articles like this do not address the tradeoff of the commute.

In the city, I live car-free, and don't waste time sitting in public transit for hours.

Doesn't sound like a good trade-off: suburban is more affordable because I'd need a car, gas, insurance, parking & 2 hours of daily commute (or 3+ hours of commute by public transit).

Waiting for the results of my MRI, but my experience suggests this is true in my case.
😢

Fortunately, the impact on my job is minimal. But not everyone experiencing post-covid brain fog is so lucky. (Are you counting on being a lucky one?)

Mask up in public, folks.
If not for yourself, then for everyone's children.

I REALLY hope somebody had the smarts to specify for the public health system. 'Cause you can hire two docs in a public hospital for the cost of one of Ford's private clinic docs 😡

What’s going on in the brain when someone experiences trauma?

And how could a deeper understanding of the neurobiology of trauma help us in our work with clients?

My practice has really benefitted from these NICABM free broadcasts:

🇨🇦 : Ontario may move to expropriate land before environmental review

"The move to explicitly allow expropriation of land before obtaining certain approvals is aimed at preventing potential court challenges from bogging down construction of flagship provincial projects like Highway 413, the Bradford Bypass, new transit lines — to enable what the doc says the govt is already doing, despite uncertainty about whether it’s legal

Why?

Canada is signatory to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child :
https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/national-child-day/united-nations-convention-rights-of-the-child.html

In which Art. 13, 14 & 16 say:

▪ Children have the right to share freely with others what they learn, think & feel … unless it harms others

▪ Children can choose their own thoughts, opinions & religion…

▪ Every child has the right to privacy
https://www.unicef.org/child-rights-convention/convention-text-childrens-version

AB legislation contravening this convention is immoral & violent

Today I've searched with duckDuckGo twice, to understand a new word/concept. "Define X."

Sadly, each time, the first page I chose to view was just LLM-generated drivel.

Pure, unadulterated verbal diarrhea - as if each was generated specifically in response to my search string - but without any obligation to actually answer my query.

Like an ADHD soliloquy, seeded with my search query, spiraling through random tangents, ending up at "now, how did I get here?🤭"

I used to love search engines 💔

Henry 'Box' Brown was a celebrated Black abolitionist and magician. In 1849, he famously escaped slavery by “mailing himself to freedom” in a 3 foot long box (by rail, steamboat and wagon 😨) to abolitionists in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Fearing re-enslavement, he moved to England, & spent the last decade of his life in Toronto. 😢

Now, in historic Old Toronto,
Henry Box Brown Lane comemmorates him.
