  • January 2004 after we shipped JakII at Naughty Dog.
  • 3 founders. We picked the company name based on our initials.
  • IIRC we grew to about 30 over 2 year for our first project but the company eventually was over 100 people (after my time)
  • Privately owned. We split ownership between the 3 founders.
  • We funded the first project and the company with a first-party dev deal with Sony.

  • Yes. I had already pitched the game idea to Jason Rubin at ND before I left. It was an offshoot to J&D on a new console, the PSP.
  • Because that's what I knew how to do and build.
  • I'm the most proud of the company culture we grew. Some guys are still there to this day.
  • I left in 2011 after suffering from depression once we shipped our first game and not pulling my weight anymore because of that. The company eventually was sold to FB in 2020.

    :anAmigaBall: 231225 - So I managed to fix placeholder sprites on Amiga today and got the basic game functionality operational, yay! So then I tried to make a custom sprite, but it was invisible again. I guess I should study Amiga palettes and how bitplanes function.

    @andycarolan I thought about something like that for a game project incubator. multiple small teams that can cross collaborate sometimes based on needs.
