A person based in Germany just called me out as a social justice warrior:

"A SJW is for free speech as long as you agree with them, as soon as you disagree hell breaks lose… you might call this a safe space, I call it a hallucination, i.e. that all people agree with you and you’re (always) right.”

My offense? Pointing out to another a platform's Nazi bar problem.

Which is really ironic. (See: 1933–1943 Germany)

I gotta do better at this biz dev stuff. I'm too honest.

But I'd rather them come to the realization that maybe podcasting—and certainly making a monthly video podcast—probably won't net then thousands of new clients each month before spending any money to find out the expensive way.

Again, too honest. I need to be a better grifter, I guess.

    I cannot seem to grasp the logic of when to put punctuation inside the double-quotes and when to not.

    I must be missing some easy rule, as I can’t imaging most people pull out their APA or CMoS guides each time.

    I assume there are good reasons for treating quotes differently than parentheses? Or is it another of those “Yean, English is weird” things?

    It’s great to have a bridge over the 51, but I think 8 or 9 switchbacks is a little excessive.

    @LoneLocust Yes. Those short switchbacks were not designed for bikes. I think I managed to stay in the pedals for all of them, but was a challenge.

    My eldest is barreling towards their graduation from ASU this semester. As part of their final requirements, this evening they’ll be exhibiting their work at the ASU Art Gallery.

    Serious question.

    With purchasing the Affinity apps, there’s a lot of gloom and doom out there — from myself included. I use Affinity apps a lot and don’t want them to have a new corporate dominatrix.

    However, I’ve not much experience with Canva (a bit, but not much)

    Here’s the question: is it as crap as it appears to be on first impression?

    I questioned my own sanity when I decided to make Sunday the publishing day of my podcast, Binge-Listen. Yes, it coincides with , but I really don't like doing much work on the weekends.

    So far, that's not been a big deal, as the number of shows concluding or finale-ing the prior week that also have trailers for those series conclusions or season finales is woefully small. And this week, there was only one. 🤷‍♂️

    I started watching 3 Body on Netflix last night and am shifting my expectations.

    I loved the books. Read them all, then listened to the audiobooks—a highly recommended activity!

    I also watched the 30 episode Tencent TV series from China, which was very true to the source material and VERY Chinese. Can imaging that’s a good intro to Western audiences who are unfamiliar.

    Netflix’s version is a reimagining, for sure. Final judgment held in reserve.
