Still learning…but this is me. Love physical exercise like yoga 🧘🏼‍♀️ pilates or balance 🤸🏼‍♂️plus a bit of pump 🏋🏼‍♀️ but also happy to just walk 🚶‍♀️ I believe we’ve lost our way when it comes to food & am a proponent of J.E.R.F. Just Eat Real Food & very little processed or packaged food. Love my garden, especially when I grow my own produce. Not very good at it, but that’s ok. At 71 life is pretty damned good, healthier than I was 30yrs ago & intend to stay that way for as long as I can. Wiradjuri country.

Happy Easter Morning tooters, wishing you all a lovely day however you spend it. I need to get moving, it’s going to be 33c today, so I want to walk these dogs shortly & then head into town for the grandkids Easter egg hunt & BBQ lunch. Hopefully home before it gets too hot.
Didn’t sleep well last night - weird, I was roused at some stage thinking someone had called my name. I know logically it was one of those weird wake/sleep half dream things but I lay awake for ages after listening & hearing the bushes outside rustling. The dogs weren’t bothered & I knew it was nothing - but still!

Good morning friends. Going to be a busy-ish day for me, so regular rests of my leg will be required. Took my friends to the airport at 6am & then came home for brekky. I have to pack my suitcase & bits & pieces to move down to said friends house until the 2nd January as I’m looking after their boofhead cat 🐈‍⬛ called Stormy.
I also have the fracture clinic this morning. Another X-ray will be taken & advice given.
At least my friends place isn’t too far from my own & I can come & go as required & keep up with my own watering, but this would all be so much easier if I wasn’t in a moonboot 😏. Oh well, I’ll manage. #Fracture #Sprain #Moonboot #Housesitting #Petsitting

Good morning tooting friends. Lovely day yesterday wandering Yarrawongas foreshore & main streets with my friend. We were trying to find somewhere for lunch & came across a tiny gated alley way with sign out front advertising homemade foods, so down we went & there was a lovely grassed area with tables & chairs, a few small raised garden beds & a little building where the food was prepared & sold & it was just lovely. I had house made tomato soup with toast & my friend had pumpkin risotto. Absolutely delicious & reasonably priced. Hidden gem. Obviously popular with locals as within half an hour of arriving there the place was full. #Holiday #Exploring

Good morning tooting friends.
I slept last night with the aircon on & the ceiling fans going to circulate it. Still wasn’t really cool, which is how I sleep best, but better than if I’d had everything open. Woke at 4am & then opened the house up, including the front door & went back to bed until 6.30am. It’s going to be another warm one - 34c with storm warnings 😫.
Wishing everyone a lovely day, stay cool whatever you do.

Just about to eat my dinner. I baked a cheese & onion loaf this afternoon & made a huge pot of zucchini soup. I wasn’t sure about the soup, but it’s delicious & as I do with pumpkin soup, I’ll be adding grated cheese to the bowl next time. The bread is awesome too & yeah it looks like a lot of butter spread on it - my excuse is that it goes into the holes so not my fault 😁. Lots of containers of soup for the freezer, the bread I’ll keep eating in the days to come.

Good morning tooters, big fog has crept in here & my favourite tree has disappeared into the mist. Might get a little sun later & I’m looking forward to that.

Heading into my volunteer job at Vinnies today after 3mths & feeling quite excited. Slowly things are getting back to normal.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day - stay warm.

G’day tooting friends. I feel like I’ve hardly been online today - maybe because I haven’t 😁. Vinnies day today but didn’t last more than a couple of hours before I started to feel my back, still got a few things done that needed doing.
I had a phone call from a friend today. She asked if I wanted to help her clean a house for a friend of hers who is selling it, cash in hand. She’s now not very happy with me for saying I didn’t want to! Part of my reasoning is cleaning a whole house for sale is damned hard work & I considered my back & my leg & the fact I really don’t care about money even though yes - it would be nice. It takes me twice as long to clean my own place nowadays. She doesn’t seem to understand & thinks I should want to do it anyway 🤷🏼‍♀️.
Apart from that little issue - I’ve quite enjoyed my day.

Good morning tooters. Daylight saving never seems to affect me much, I’m already waking an hour earlier most days now, although I always feel that it goes for about a month too long for my sleeping patterns.
How does everyone else find the change over?
Anyway its 7am & I’ve already been up for 2hrs, stripped & remade my bed, washed & hung out the sheets. Had my breakfast, just finished that second coffee & now I’m off to get ready for an early walk in the cool morning sunshine.

Good morning tooters. What a night we had here in Victoria, heavy rain all night & it was warm. Went to bed around 11pm but was still awake at 1.30am. Part of the reason was I was in a bed I’m not used too the other was being over warm. I ended up with not only the ceiling fan on but also the aircon. My leg was aching quite a lot too & I think probably because of the weather, so I hope that disappears once I’m fully healed. Don’t know what time I finally fell asleep but it was sometime after 2am when I took some painkillers 🤷🏼‍♀️ ⛈️.

For some months now I’ve been coming to the realisation that despite what I might want to do, I won’t be getting back on my e-bike 🙁.

The damage to my spine is permanent & I’m scared to risk more accidents riding on the roads & I can’t get to any bike track without going on the road. I don’t trust the people driving cars, I see how they drive. I am fit & I am healthy, but I’m also 71 & it’s been 7+months since I was hit & I haven’t ridden the bike since.

So I’ve sold it & today it was picked up & going to a lady in Tatura, country town, roads with less traffic. It’s a bittersweet decision, but it was the right one unfortunately & I’m feeling quite sad. I’ll keep on walking though because I’m not so damaged I can’t do that, I’ll also keep up with my Yoga, Balance & weight classes because I love them.

I see this all the time now & especially noticing it more since I was hit & I don’t know about it being particularly male drivers or not, but people just aren’t taking care. Yesterday taking my friends to the train station,I pulled up for a red light, a truck in the lane next to me just drove straight through - a bloody truck!

Cheers everyone. Having a glass of wine tonight, maybe two. My X-ray results are really good, I don’t need a knee op after all. There is more damage & deterioration but my doctor doesn’t think an op is needed. So I’ll just keep working away, doing what I do to stay fit & healthy - I am a bit bemused though as it does beg the question - why in 2020 just before Covid hit was I told I needed a knee replacement, not by my doctor but by an ortho surgeon! What has changed in those four years 🤷🏼‍♀️. Anyway - maybe I should be thankful to Covid because I’d have had the op by now as I was on the list. #Healing #Exercise #Health

Good morning tooters & it’s heading to a sunny lovely 17c today. I’ve realised this morning it’s 12yrs ago that I completed moving into my little unit. I’m about to turn 71yrs old & this is the longest that I’ve lived anywhere! Previously the longest was between the ages of 7 & 18 - a very long time ago. No plans to ever move again either!
Wishing everyone a lovely day doing what you enjoy.

Ok mastodon brains trust, especially Aussie ones. Anyone know what little bugs come out of this. There were two of them & both shaped almost like the Tesla logo. There was also a little green praying mantis nest (or whatever they’re called) nearby. Very soft & papery to touch.
