been married for >15 years and have two daughters. Those three girls are my greatest love on this planet.

I consider myself a Evangelist. Learning about what was, including GNU/Linux, opened my eyes to so many things: governments aren't the only ones stealing individual rights, I know so much less about computers than I thought I did, the idea of code, I can make a difference without having to know anyone particular.

I'm employed as contract Engineer in the Metal industry. My workplace is not yet unionized, but I'm hoping to fix that. member of the IU440. I don't have an engineering degree. After discovering Free Software I took my political scientist butt and found a call center job that paid for me to go to Community College to study Software Engineering, where I learned that I liked the idea of coding a lot more than I liked coding. The blessings of God put some great opportunities in my lap at just the right time.

I'm a and have been for over 20 years. The love of libertarianism is what lead me to first to a BS in science and later to falling in love with Free Software. These days I lean toward the left side of the libertarian spectrum including being a member of the Libertarian Caucus of the Libertarian Party (LSC-LP). Sometimes I call myself a .

I'm a huge fan, but don't following any particular sport/team super closely. I'm prototyping a fediverse sharing button. Anyone interested in giving it a try?

Feature highlights:

  • shows a logo of supported fediverse software
  • lets you share selected text
  • remembers the last fediverse domain used

Demo: https://fediverse-share-button.stefanbohacek.dev/

@stefan the same bookmarklet code you use for Diaspora should work for Friendica too. https://wiki.friendi.ca/ressources?s[]=share

fu,

@stefan before I learned that I was using "Share to Mastodon" that I had configured to a Mastodon account that my Friendica Account re-toots everything it toots, though depending on what I was doing I preferred to manually copy/paste the URL so that I could include proper BBCode like [url=https://full.text-of.url][/url] so that the URL preview would look the way I wanted it too.
[=bbcode]Friendica BBCode tags reference - Documentation [Friendica / Wiki]](https://wiki.friendi.ca/docs/bbcode?s%5B)

fu,

@stefan While share to mastodon didn't recognize my friendica instance as a valid Mastadon instance, it did recognize both my Soapbox and GNU Social accounts as valid, but neither works right, GNU Social just shows a pop-up window indicating "internal server error NO SUCH USER FOUND" whether I'm logged in or not, if I am logged in it shows my personal preference for the GNU Social interface and a log out button while if I'm logged out it shows the default interface and a log in button. On my Soapbox account it just opens a pop-up for a new post with no info pre-populated in the text input box.

On similar notes Friendica nativeily supports RSS so I have used kill-the-newsletter.com to set up an email address I call "tooty mail" that lets me just type an email from any email account in the world, like when I'm at work where much of the web, including my Frienidca instance, is blocked, if i have something on my mind. (With native RSS support almost half of my "friends" are RSS feeds, with nearly half of those being email newsletters, which leads to me reading more of that content in general AND making my email inbox easier to manage actual important email communication.

@stefan
I really had hoped to find a way to set up something more similar to what tweety-mail was back in the day where when you emailed from (a) certain authorize(d) email address with certain commands it would post text of the mail, return X number of recent notification via email, return X number of recent toots from a given feed, or comment on a particular toot included in that return, etc. But I'm not smart enough to do so and I couldn't find a way to explain what I wanted to anyone that I could pay to make a FLOSS tool available to anyone.

It's hard to overstate how fucking scummy the credit reporting world is. Equifax invented the business in 1899, when, as the Retail Credit Company, it used private spies to track queers, political dissidents and "race mixers" so that banks and merchants could discriminate against them:

@pluralistic I work in the auto industry. All the old-guard are "learning" from Tesla. I really want to do something about it, but I feel like my hands are tied by capitalism. Even when engineers present traditional market reasons why designs are actually poor and Tesla customer satisfaction is like Porsche satisfaction, owners already decided they will love everything about it before they bought it, and even poor performance won't change their mind, management continues to act like copying Tesla is the gold solution they've been looking for.

...Moscow, handed a 1,500-ruble (roughly US$16) fine to artist and photographer Inna Mosina over several Instagram posts depicting rainbow flags...the posts were published before the ruling, at a time when rainbow flags were not regarded by authorities as extremist, and her lawyer argued that a police report about her alleged wrongdoing was filed before the ruling took force. The court ordered her to pay the fine nonetheless..., a court fined a man 1,000 rubles (about US$11) for allegedly posting a rainbow flag on social media.

Oh my… funny moment of irony.

I was reading an article about trying to do a daily schedule with an ADHD brain, and while reading that, I wondered what was in the sweetener I was pouring into my tea, and so launched a rabbit trail researching Truvia and erythritol… and five minutes later, I close the terminal I was wikipedia-ing on, only to find the same article I had started with staring at me.

I had completely forgotten what I was doing because…

But until then we should expect His return and be good stewards of this earth.

I would hope you agree that part of that stewardship is social-economic reform. Jesus told the rich man that to follow him he must sell what he has and give to the poor. The early Christians lived in community and shared everything leaving nothing to themselves.
