sometimes I hate touchscreens so much. one uncontrolled gesture and you lose what you were doing or create other disastrous inputs.

we've also had them for so long and not solved this issue...

@diegoe what if the there were phone touchscreens that could click like the MacBook touchpads?

touch could be always on for stuff like scrolling, and actvating things could require a hard press.

    having covid sucks. there seems to be a huge local surge going on.

    no warnings about this. also boosters aren't universally available.

    now been out too sick to work for a week already. even if you look at it from a shortsighted capitalist perspective giving free boosters to everyone makes economic sense.

    maybe I can use this time to play some Tears of the Kingdom? I've only played it for about 3 hours since it came out... just couldn't get into it. exploring the same world just wasn't so appealing and felt like work after collecting the 900 korok seeds in Breath of the Wild...

    managed to play again. finished it in 5h instead of 10 in my first run. didn't feel brutally hard anymore and finished chapter 8 for the first time. 🏔️

    probably one of the best games ever.

    @khalidabuhakmeh I really liked this concept as a new C# user as it's so easy to understand. but later once you learn it launches a new thread and you have to manage everything that you attach it becomes hard to maintain...

    I've been working on the design of GNOME's location services feature recently, and I'm increasingly baffled by the name. Why is it that every platform calls this feature "Location Services"?

    From a user perspective it's really unclear! Why services plural? If they are multiple, what are they? Also, are these remote services for the device? Or a local service for apps?

    Can anyone shed any light? Is there a reason not to call this feature "automatically find the location of this device"?

    I keep seeing this narrative that kids support Palestine because they have been "influenced" by TikTok etc.

    It's actually the opposite.

    Kids have connected with other kids across the globe. They've seen and shared silly dances with each other.

    They know they are fellow human beings just like them. Propaganda has minimal impact.

    It's the older generation raised on 80s bullshit "ra ra" that can so easily de-humanize others. It's they who have been "influenced".

    will make finding/changing/adding icons in the future much easier.

    been avoiding looking at the collision code... managed to improve it a lot.

    still a few bugs, but now you can at least traverse the world without major issues.

    also you can jump on shelves from below now! 🪜🐱
