Q&A sections of conference recordings are like Jeopardy. You only know the answer and good luck trying to figure out what the question was, because I guess passing a mic to the asker is not something anyone plans for.
Kherm, #FOSDEM . (but also others)
Watch Andrew Lukoshko's #FOSDEM presentation on obtaining and modifying source code, building packages and checking their binary compatibility, maintaining security advisories, and building all images possible, as we do for AlmaLinux.
My "SemVer in Rust" talk from @fosdem is now available as a blog post!
I used the "annotated talk" format pioneered by @simon to make it easy to skim the material, skip ahead, and jump between the written post and the video.
☀️ We were at #FOSDEM at the beginning of February! 🤩
Not only we brought there our colourful and lively booth 🎈, but some of our team members hosted talks and discussions 🗨️, and we even co-organized the Legal & Policy Issues devroom with @conservancy 💡
💭 It was very insightful, and all the recordings are publicly available! ⏯️
It always gives me joy when I see that people find useful the /sys/kernel/debug/devices_deferred sysfs entry that I only added to scratch my own itch 🙂
One thing that was evident at #FOSDEM was the move to Mastodon / #Fediverse handles for speakers - seems as though Twitter is still hanging on here in London today. 🤷 Of course nobody is calling it X.
At #FOSDEM 2024 Niharika Singhal, :fsfe: #FSFE project manager, gave a very insightful talk on the different dimensions of the convergence of #AI and #FreeSoftware… for example, the Hippocratic License! 👀️
How can the open source community engage with standardisation bodies and government entities? The EU Open Source Policy Summit 2024 panel on CRA and OSS market regulation took a crack at the question.
@OpenForumEurope ok but there are some things to discuss in terms of responsibility, that I think were quite overlooked. I didn't react on the talk at #FOSDEM, but…
I can confirm that Tuba works very nicely as a Mastodon app on a Linux-based phone (specifically, postmarketOS on PinePhone Pro). Great job, @GeopJr 👏🏻
... someone asked me about good Mastodon clients for Linux phones at our booth at #FOSDEM, so I'm excited to be able to try some out for myself.
I've come to the realization that I'm never going to sit down and watch all the #FOSDEM talks that I wanted to see, but missed, in Brussels. So, I went through my FOSDEM app, downloaded the video tracks for all the talks, and converted them to mp3. Now I have podcast content for my daily commute... 24 talks... should take about 4 weeks to get through them all. FOSDEM is amazing, but it really should be longer than 2 days. #FOSDEM2024
