Wait, did you say there's a 1200-page book about keyboards?
https://shifthappens.site/

indieterminacy,

@frescosecco I was in Korea and spent all week waiting to leave my wedding troupe to sneak a look at a Korean typewriter.

I got lost on the metro and the museum wouldnt let me in despite pleading.

The staff were probably a little confused to find a westerner crying at not being able to glance at such a device.

Starting to volunteer for the SocialHub's initiaitive for Fediverse conferences, I just submitted a thread to encourage people to consider joining the steering group.

I consider the success to depend on widening the diversity of talent not only within the events but also within the leadership
https://socialhub.activitypub.rocks/t/widening-the-talent-pool-for-our-upcoming-fediconference-initiative/3496

If you have any ideas or suggestions Im sure the steering group would be all ears.

Feel free to propagate the request wide to your trusted communities the further the better.

is removing server headers actually beneficial to , or is it

e.g., removing the server version

pros: for a widely used software (like apache), knowing the exact version helps you narrow down exploits.

rebuttal: you know it's mastodon or already.

cons: think like a user. Removing the server version means that users can't know that you've lapsed in updating the site.

transparency over obscurity.

indieterminacy,

@risottobias I get what you are saying.

The protocol aims to either send the format , which provides a simpler format, else what is refers to as a 'binary', which would be a file which has no (direct) syntax assumptions.

But back to your point there was a recent conversation in this matrix room that touches upon that topic (somewhat):

indieterminacy,

@deadbeef Its appalling for many reasons but not without precedent.

The Europeans learnt the secrets of Chinese pottery from Jesuit industrial espionage.

Similarly, the Americans modernised through being blind to copyright and intellectual property laws.

Its fascinating to see such extreme and different regulatory positions by major economies concerning this technology domain.

I doubt they can all operate side-by-side without sparks and later adaption.

I like your gists but the wording on your repo is ambiguous:

Are you parsing your toots and having them be read into your local gist repo?

Or is it the other way around?

Do you have a specific workflow for that?

However in getting around to testing the interoperabilty from your side, I realize that the attribution is off:

Naturally, you are not the owner for any of these groups but you are classed as such.
