If the storms aren’t severe my husband and I are going out to dinner to celebrate our 31 yr anniversary of our first date. It’s actually June 5 but he has an appointment near the city today. We’ve always celebrated the 1st date anniversary since we lived in sin for 13yrs before marrying. 😜

Happy Friday friends!
I spent the morning outside with a cup of tea enjoying the lovely 60°F (15°C) 🌞 weather. Dude missed his lap time 😾so I’ll have to make it up to him after my workout.
This morning we said goodbye to friends visiting from afar, it’s sad they live such a long distance away. We’ll miss their funny stories, lively spirits & just communicating alongside good people with similar mindsets.❤️
No plans so far #today, but that may change.
The weekend is in sight! 🙌🏼

Morning Friends. Maybe the good morning will arrive later #today. I woke up terrorized from a mass shooting nightmare. I immediately checked my phone next to the bed for the news. These nightmares have happened before, usually they are hospital dreams. The worst nightmare was in the morning of Sept 11. I won’t describe the carnage. We were camping in CO so when I woke up I figured it was from the high elevations. But, no.😢

I have high hopes this Monday will improve, it has too, I’m retired! 😁😘

Happy Friday friends!
It’s party cloudy, 55F (13C) this morning and reaching 70F (21C) by this afternoon. I think a convertible ride is in our future, & blow the stink off.😝 Heading to the Loading Dock in Illinois. It’s a beautiful drive, mostly slow cruising & crossing the river with 2 ferries. The wkd is crazy there so we avoid that at all costs.
My hubbys lower back issues have been relieved with 4 treatments of acupuncture and PT. So the long drive #today will not be a problem.👏🏼

Dude left my lap briefly for his morning hydration.
I slept over 8 hrs according to my sleep study! So nice to be home & in my own bed.
I have a heartwarming story about my weekend. The 5 of us friends were going to dinner in one SUV on Sat evening. The back right tire made a pop sound. We safely pulled over. We could see a piece of metal embedded in the flat tire.
It wasn’t 10 minutes a young man pulled over and then another young man.

Happy Tuesday Masto friends.
This is the last health update on Little Guy. Yesterday he climbed the narrow steps to the window perch where he eats & sleeps on his heated bed. After his partial paralysis from blood clots he was unable to maneuver the steps. I tried to post a video of him trying & falling 2 wks ago, but it wouldn’t send. He is 100% mobile now, the clots have dissolved & he has no noticeable damage. His heart murmur & BP are managed with meds & the power of love! 💗

The same brown tabby cat eating breakfast on his window perch this morning. Yesterday he climbed the narrow ladder successfully, both of them, which he hadn’t been able to do. He has made a remarkable recovery in 2 weeks. Cato, an orange/white shorthair cat, his best buddy, is eating his breakfast on the floor below him with toys scattered nearby.

We took Parker pooch for a convertible ride, but we had to stay close to home because his guardians forgot his car seat. We went to Cuivre River state park which is a 15min drive and a beautiful park. It’s 88F (31 C). He was too hot with his fur coat on, not right for April.

It’s been a busy week here in the woodlands of MO.
Some of my friends know how our week began. Little Guy (LG) gave us a scare with partial paralysis in his hind quarters. He was diagnosed last year with a heart murmur. On Monday his BP was severely elevated & his heart was failing, he had thrown clots to his rear legs. With heart & BP meds on board he is recovering. His left leg is stronger, his right is compromised. He is a resilient & determined LG. ❤️

Same kitty enjoying some chin and neck scritches from his human.
A wooden ramp made for Little Guy to reach the media area and couch in the cathouse. He can maneuver stairs upward but downward he falls. It required many food motivated exercises for him to become comfortable using the ramp. A white bichon poodle, Parker, is posing next to it. He is staying as our guest. He has been very welcome in the cat house for the past 11 yrs when I doggy sit.

My kitty, Little Guy is going to the vet right now. Last night before bed his hind legs became partially paralyzed. He is the kitty that was a diabetic w/insulin injections but a year he ago went into remission. I immediately checked his BS & it was 167 normal and today’s was normal. In November he was diagnosed with a heart murmur which leads me to believe this condition is a “saddle embolism.” It maybe very grim. 😞
Send me some healing vibes. It’s an hour drive so I’ll toot later.

I slept wonderfully last night after a rough day yesterday. The latest Covid booster I received on Thursday kicked my butt 24hrs later, but I feel pretty good this morning.
The sun is shining, squirrels are terrorizing each other for seed, birds are singing their spring songs and Dude is asleep on my lap.

I just taste tested a filled cupcake you mentioned and it was a Triumph my Dear! 😋
We have 25 people coming to the daughter’s house today so I made 2 recipes and a gooey butter cake. It’s already 70F here and sunny. It will be an outside gathering for sure.

Good Monday morning friends. 🌧️
It’s 50’s F (10 C) and lightly raining. There’s a high prediction of accumulating rain throughout #today. We are still in mild drought conditions so this will help.
The other morning I saw an unusual sight. A Pileated woodpecker was hanging & feasting on our suet. It’s the first time I’ve observed one up close. I see them soaring overhead, but they don’t typically come to feeders.
No plans today other than a long workout & whatever comes my way.

Happy Tuesday Masto friends!
It is 60F ( 15C ) and record high of 80F ( 26C ) for this February 27th is predicted. Possible storms tonight with a cold front and temps will be plummeting 50 degrees by Wednesday.😵‍💫
I have never in my oldish life had severe allergies in Feb, but I’ve been enjoying the outdoors without switching over to my stronger allergy meds, arriving tomorrow.🤧 Tree pollen is mod-high.🙄
I enjoyed a slacker Monday, so #today will be a full workout day with outside hikes.

Here’s Cato in April 2013.

Right after I brought him home before vet visit.
Recent photo of him and Little Guy ( feral ) now tamed, diabetic in remission. They’ve been best buddies for some years.
