    You gotta love how people really like things to happen "for a reason".

    They almost don't care if that is for a good or bad reason, as long as "someone" is in control, whether a corporation, The Illuminati, or God, or Satan, it almost does not matter. As long as someone is in "control".

    The idea that "shit happens" is such a bad concept they have to find an alternative.

    This explains so much religion and conspiracy theory...

    Maybe it is because it gives you "someone to blame"? No idea.

    Wow, OK, feeling somewhat down today.

    Work to do that I feel unmotivated to do. My wife on holiday (crazy to miss her after just one day, really?). Getting old (60.0054). Weather so shitty I did not even walk to coffee this morning. Hurt my toe anyway. Can't be arsed to sort a proper dinner (OK, I am eating, but meh).

    From experience, usually, if I get this fed up, I get to a point of kicking myself in to some level of motivation and turn it all around.

    So tomorrow will be a new day.

    Journalists (and corporate techy types) are really so obsessed with quote posting for some reason

    I mean, it’s obviously a very nice feature, but it’s also a failure of these people to think Mastodon is the only game in town on AcPub

    And I still see people on Mastodon regularly claiming they they NEED quote posting for whatever spurious reasoning

    Like, you just need to shut up and move to Fish/Key or Akkoma if you’re so obsessed with the idea of your precious quoting

    Just signed the contract for my first full-time job since 2015.
