Hey lovely Keila users! I’m currently re-doing the website and would like to add some more quotes from Keila users. If you’d consider giving a testimonial, send me a pm 💚
(Thanks to André at @brinjel for adding the first new testimonial)

I’m always a bit hesitant when it comes to doing marketing. Nonetheless, more and more people are finding out about Keila which makes me very happy 🥳

@keila Is it possible that anchor links in the content are not supported?

keila,
@keila@fosstodon.org avatar

@amadeus Which editor are you using and how are you trying to add anchor links?

keila,
@keila@fosstodon.org avatar

@amadeus This seems to be working for me with no issues in the plain Markdown editor. If you have a campaign saved where this isn’t working, you can privately share the link with me and I’ll take a look.

@keila I am working on my next newsletter and was wondering if it's not possible (anymore?) to set custom HEX color values in the template editor. I couldn't find anything in the docs but it's very well possible that this is only connected to the fact that I am trying to change the template on my phone using Firefox mobile on Android. Many thanks for your help. 🙌

@amadeus The color select widget is provided by the browser. Most browsers allow you to specify the hex code, but it seems like Firefox for Android has a very basic color picker. There’s even an open ticket on Bugzilla for this: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1796343

Cool idea from @luka: Improve the experience in the "plain markdown" editor by adding a button for inserting images. Before, this was only available in Markdown WYSIWYG and Block editor mode.

The difference with Keila: It’s Open Source and if we were to ever shut down, you could just run your own sever instead.

Exciting! I was hoping we’d get to 1000 ⭐ on by the end of the year but we’ve already reached this goal now 🥳

I’m really grateful to everyone who’s contributing code and feedback and to all our wonderful users. 🤗

Alright, so the goal this weekend is to start setting up a completely open source marketing engine for Hurricane Blonde, my music project.

Right now I'm thinking:

  1. Digital Ocean or Linode w/ Ubuntu for the web server

  2. for the site (I know you're going to recommend Hugo or Ghost but I have 20 years of experience with Wordpress and it's comfortable)

  3. @keila for the newsletter.

  4. @Matomo for analytics

  5. ??? for email

What am I missing?

keila,
@keila@fosstodon.org avatar

@killyourfm @jonte @Matomo Fun fact: Plausible is built on the same tech stack as Keila, namely the Phoenix framework and the Elixir language.

How about two releases in one day? 0.12.4 adds support for Friendly Captcha as an alternative to hCaptcha. https://github.com/pentacent/keila/releases/tag/0.12.4

@keila Can you think of a solution in conjunction with to send a based on a ? Like a that is either triggered with every new feed item or even better always aggregating the last three items? 😜 I did something similar for a client back in my kubus media days based on .

keila,
@keila@fosstodon.org avatar

@amadeus We have a GitHub ticket open for it, but it’s not currently on top of my to-do list: https://github.com/pentacent/keila/issues/146

Would you consider using Zapier? I’ve built a Keila integration for Zapier and that should make it easy to create a new campaign whenever there is a new RSS item. If you’re interested to try it I can add you to the (currently still private) Keila Zapier app!
