obsolete skills that should have had merit badges:

  • setting a VCR timer
  • rewinding VHS tapes and returning them on time
  • combining partial downloads into a complete porn movie
  • using a slide rule
  • using an abacus
  • re-tweeting
  • sub-tweeting

there are also a LOT of obscure CURRENT things that still need merit badges.

Went to the “share your embarrassment” tour tonight in Boston.

Need to apologize to B&A for the obnoxiously-loud laugh of the guy in the section whose laugh sounded like a fucking hyena doing some unpaid foley work.

Not everyone in Boston caterwauls like a Ferengi.

Was thinking that is kinda unique in the way a guest star can play one character, then a few eps later, can play a totally different character. , for example. Or pick your fave.

Are there other tv shows where they have guest stars who played multiple different characters, but without the character-distinguishing loaf?

I’m imagining a show where they not only do that, but they play it for laughs, as a running gag.

Suspect some Brit sitcoms are all over that.

Spoke to my environmental-consciousness friend today and was reminded of my own baseline understanding that “if you’re not angry all the time, you’re not paying attention.”

Global catastrophe is real, and imminent.

Not conducive to an easy sleep any night, but we need to keep living if we’re to keep fighting.

To keep living we need to have hope.

if you set heat to 68 it will let the temp fall to 67 before it heats you to 69; if you set cool to 72 it will let the temp rise to 73 before it kicks in and cools you to 71.
