Lush has some amazing Halloween goodies!

Today I picked up some Pumpkin Spice Bath Bombs, a Pumpkin Spice Wax Melt and a free sample of Lord of Misrule Shower Gel which looks like thick green slime!

The melt works well in my Bat Oil Burner (not my picture) from HMV.

@xahteiwi Y'all get all uppity about your metric system and 10/100/1000 multipliers and everything but our measurement system is easy as cake:

12 inches in a foot
3 feet in a yard
1,760 yards in a mile (or 5,280 feet)

And yeah, ounces can be a measure of weight and volume at the same time. 🤣

I switched from Pocket Casts to AntennaPod and it's been a good experience so far. It's a little quirky with moving things from the inbox to the queue, but I'm getting used to it.

@nogweii I was on Pocket Casts for a while and was happy to pay for it, but then the prices went up and it didn't seem worth it to me any more. Great product, just not at that price point. 💸

I mainly listen to podcasts via my phone, so syncing to other platforms didn't give me much of a benefit.

    @chris Howdy! I've been out of the realm for a while but I recently hopped back in to help a non-profit with their site.

    There seems to be a huge proliferation of web hosts with WordPress offerings where they cram together as many websites on the same server as they can fit. Sometimes more than can fit.

    We've even tried out WordPress.com, which we assumed would be the best, and the performance was awful.

    Oprah's grifting shocked me as I listened to the ones on Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil, and John of God. I thought I knew how bad it was, but boy, it was much worse. 👀

    Wow, I transferred a domain to cloudflare to save a little cash but boy, it has cost me much more than I imagined.

    The domain configuration is broken on cloudflare's end but I can't get support on a free plan. Can't transfer the domain out for 60 days. Also can't use different nameservers.

    I paid for one of the business plans to just get the site fixed somehow and it's been four days since I opened the support ticket.

    This feels weird.

    @thelinuxcast I went to porkbun during the pandemic and I've loved their service. I only just recently realized that their authoritative DNS is hosted with cloudflare and the performance is great.

    I also like all the pig-related art. 🐷

    A threshold run that almost turned into a nightmare. I always do my runs in fasted state but today my kid’s school organised breakfast so I ate a “pain au chocolat”. I ran 2h later and knew something was wrong already at the start, then I eventually had to stop and sit on the sidewalk as I could fell my body was about to leak from multiple areas (hopefully you will get the picture). Thankfully things remained inside but lesson learned I will never never never eat before running again.

    If I run faster, it makes it worse but I get home faster
    If I walk, it will take forever to get home and I might not make it

    I am going to be disabling image uploads and image serving, moving to moderated signups, and instituting some extensive block lists on infosec.pub due to the pervasive problems with CSAM attacks on lemmy instances.

    No, it’s not happened to any of our instances yet, but I don’t need that headache. And if anyone does, I promise you that I will make it my life’s mission to see that those responsible are convicted and rotting in prison where they belong. ❤️
